He was strapped in? Good, Magic Mountain owes him a detailed reason for his treatment. Also a list of the disabilities that are permitted to ride.

Extremity requirements are absolutely available for anyone that can be bothered to look for them. In the description of the ride under “ADA REQUIREMENTS”

  2. Safety is more important than anything else. Maybe they should have ask if there wasn’t a special harness to strap the teen in. If the teen fell out and was killed they would be ready to sue. All parks have their rules. Find out what theirs are.

The ADA requirements for that ride include two fully functional arms and legs. They’re listed. Would it have been a little gentler to have pulled him out of line before he got to the car? Sure. But that’s not really a reasonable expectation of their staff, to physically scan everyone in line and feel them up to make sure they’re good to go before they get up to the bit where they check their harness. There are a lot of people in those lines. This is exactly why they have those requirements listed publicly for all to see before even getting to the park.

That is one cold hearted statement and so typical of non disabled people. You make me sick!

I for one am tired of the special treatment. I have seen parking lots where 1/4 of the entire lot is taken up for special people. Businesses are sued for absolutely no reason constantly.

The disabled can go and f themselves. The ADA needs repealed so we can bring back sanity. Maybe we can stop all those pets overwhelming everyone as fake service dogs.

Disabled people have such a hard time fitting in this world because of people like you

Disabled people have such a hard time fitting in this world because of people like you. Don’t you have any empathy?

The park said there is a special harness that would have allowed him to ride. It sounds like the ride operator was not properly trained enoughto know this. Training is a definite issue in that park. I was hired by them a year ago and training was virtual. I had issues accessing it, couldn’t get help, and had to find work elsewhere.

I guess the teen wanted to die. They should have allowed him.

Parents of disabled children should check online to see any disability restrictions at a theme park before attending. They might have even found out about special harnesses that could have been used. That way, they could map out appropriate rides/activities for their child. I would not blame the employee for addressing it before the ride began. I have friends with disabled children. They know that their children can’t do all the things that other kids can. I think the parents had the responsibility of asking one of the employees if their son would be able to ride. I’m sorry it happened, and the child was embarrassed. I also have lived long enough to know that there are two sides to every story.
