Did not know 1971 was a few years ago. More like 50 years ago. Wish you guys would report better and more accurately.

    1. Brit

The video isn’t from 1971, that’s just the handle of the person who posted it. This incident took place in 2008 or 2009. So yes, it was a few years ago.

      1. It was 11 or 12 yrs ago more than a few years ago

    2. It’s ok, my friend…it’s Disney, which is kind of like Vegas for kids…did you ever notice how there are never any clocks in casinos? That’s so people just lose track of both time AND their money! Well, Disney apparently has no calendars so it’s ALWAYS 1971! lol…

    3. Strom Thurmond

You think the video was filmed 2 decades before the ride existed? Sounds like Republican logic.

      1. Chris Heminger

Hopefully that becomes a new attraction.

      2. Joe

Well it’s Florida and we have alot of Gators here.

    4. Richard

Factually incorrect all the way around. Splash Mountain is not an original attraction. It didn’t open until 1989.

  2. Bailey Dog

Sic that gator on whomever approved the remake of the ride from the original version to the this new version, dreading heading there with the new granddaughter when she is old/big enough to ride.. loved the original for all these years.

    1. WaltDisneyWayGay

Simple… don’t go support something that sucks. It’s not obligatory or a rite of passage to visit Disney as they would have you believe. Find a beach or museum and still make memories with your grandkids.

      1. Walt

EXACTLY! Why support a company that now could care less what you want or desire for entertainment. Its only goal is to be woke and SHOVE it down your pie hole. You’re an idiot if you continue to go.

        1. Zippity Bye Bye

          What is woke, my friend?

Is it in the room with us?

Are you so scared of the times changing around you that you resort to pointless dog whistles.

          P.s. wahhh woke! Wahhhhhhhhhhh.

        2. Lol

Ahhh, and there’s good ole “Walt”. Hates Disney soooo much that he has to RUN to get on this website every single morning to let us all know. EVERY
          SINGLE
          MORNING.
          What a winner lol

      2. Aaron

You don’t know it will suck

    2. Aaron

I’m sure she’ll like it much better

  3. Paul

It’s a new resident for retheme, trying to get in! (If this were more recent) OR Disney caved to alligator PAC that wants retheme!!!?

    1. Steve

If they rethemed it to an entirely alligator themed attraction, I could get behind it.

  4. jlf

Article says a few years ago the picture was taken. Almost end of article. Is disney wanting to close this disown now?

  5. Brandy

Ok so they are closing that ride in a couple months but the lack of clarity in this show that the story was years old

  6. Kat

Everyone needs to calm down about the retheming. Walt said the parks were not meant to be a museum they were meant to be always evolving. Better animatronics and updates are never a bad thing. Your nostalgia will survive and I guarantee your granddaughter will love it as long as you don’t preface your nostalgia bias to her. Princess in the frog is a great movie. I’m excited for the change.

    1. Steve

Walt also fired every communist that worked at the company. Your woke shielding is pathetic. Get lost. No one wants this garbage.

      1. Aaron

Just because you’re butthurt about something you don’t like doesn’t mean it’s woke, fool

        1. ...

          Fking wnker

      2. Vince

        Hi Steve!!

      3. Kat

I guess I’m no one then because I’m excited about the change. You seem like a really angry person if you hate it so much why are you even following Disney things and stop going to the parks. Oh no newer technology and updated animatronics for an updated ride experience how horrible *eye roll*. But if liking seeing and experiencing something new makes me “woke” ok? Then so be it. I’ll enjoy the ride you can be angry in your own angry party for one. Byeeeee

    2. joho0

We should all be thankful the economy is crashing and the idiots promoting this agenda will be homeless soon.

      1. Aaron

What agenda? Stop being ridiculous. You’re embarrassing yourself.

    3. Bryan Cooper

Stfu you stupid fking fag. Nobody give a rats A what you worthless @$$ thinks…

      1. Parker K.

Yo Bryan what is your problem? Why are you getting upset over a kid ride at a family park lmfao

        1. Vince

Lol, someone’s MAJORLY “projecting”. Me thinks Bryan cooper is feeling inner guilt about ahemm.. something

  7. Buddy Bluey

Andrew you’re a hack journalist and should be ashamed of posting such drivel. Go to school kids or you’ll end up like this fool!

  8. Sunny

I enjoyed the old ride, and also look forward to the new, updated version. Princess and the Frog is my favorite! “Keep moving forward.” -W. Disney

    1. Bryan Cooper

Good for you ya stupid fkn moron

      1. Joseph R. Trump

“since the park opened”? Splash mountain opened in 1992, 21 years after the park opened. 30 years later, it’s getting a much needed update.

        1. Jack

The ride opened sometime in the 1980’s. It was there when I visited in 1985

        2. Kat

    2. Heartsick over changing Splash Mountain! My favorite ride!

  9. Graham Hunley

That’s not even a big gator. It could’ve bitten someone, maybe, but that’s about it.

    1. It only takes one bite from a not-so-large gator to totally ruin your vacation.

  10. wow… I had no idea how serious this stuff is for some.. I guess it doesn’t bother me because I haven’t even been able to afford going to the parks since whenever that picture was taken… thanks to another of Walt’s favorite things to keep “moving forward”..TICKET PRICES!!!

  11. Chris

I remember watching this on YouTube back in 2009. Slow news day?

  12. Donald J. Biden

  13. Disney world was built on swampland so why is anyone surprised there are alligators roaming around? A few years ago a child was killed by one at grand Floridian. Alligators cannot read signs !!!! Be aware that gators live in swamplands and could be anywhere on Disney property. It is Florida home of the gators! It is where they live . They show up in swimming pools all the time on Florida!

  14. Melissa

I’m not sure this qualifies as “fighting an alligator off”… such a small gator, too. Any local Floridian knows that this sort of thing isn’t even newsworthy lol

  15. Niknik4220

Wow yall argue over anything. And time are changing u roll with them or get run over. But to the authority, this ride was built in the early 90s. It was not there since the begining…

  16. F*** You

That might have been the gayest video ever posted to this website.
