It sounds like the cause for the wait was technical, not that they were being duped by the lightning lane. Buying that doesn’t bypass any breakdowns that might occur. Plus, it’s summer. The height of crowds at Disney. People need to be realistic in those situations. I think paying for rides (that you already paid thousands for your family to go to Disney in the first place), is insanity. Protest with your wallets and don’t buy lightning lane. We didn’t on our last trip and stand by was fine. I think the longest we waited was 45 minutes for Avatar Flight Passage and Rise Resistance. Most rides were half hour or less. I think they inflate wait times to get you to buy lightning lane. We saw queues say 45 minutes and it took like 20. But, it wasn’t summer or spring break when we went either. If you hate crowds, just go at off times.

Simply,Disney should abandon the Genie+,Lightning Lane, Fast Pass, etc., and go back to General Queue Line, and Mobility Access Queue Line…thats it simple.

If Disney was so set on charging an extra fee for the signature extractions, why not then go back to old school way, issuing paper tickets or ticket books per signature ride?

Simple is always best…For example MagicBands, producing those, maintaining the software systems and so, all cost, as to the old school alternative, either the plastic room key or admission card, or paper tickets for admission…again cheaper to produce, less maintenance, less head aches…

Look at the trends in design, at Disney for the World of Disney Store, streamlined, less character, simple…so why not for park admission?

No Magic Bands, No Lightning Lane, Genie, Genie+,
simple oldchool days of plastic card admission or paper tickets…. Its time to Remember the Magic of simplicity!

Came here to say exactly that. As much as it costs to go to the park, give everyone the same experience and chance to enjoy.

Disney is a scam. Pay more, get less.

Anyone that was paying a LL while there was a virtual queue going on at the same time is an idiot! Who gets priority? The person that woke up super early to get the virtual ticket or the idiot that paid the LL. I would have waited to PAY to get on this ride after the VQ was done and over with. I do not feel bad for these people and yeah that’s why Disney makes their $$$ off of you idiots that do pay for this.
