“If you scour these interwebs, there’s a lot of people that are like me that are very happy about this, so you sit down and you shut up and you have the day that you deserve,” the creator says in the video.
Ie., “There’s more of me than there are of you, so just sit back and learn to love the fact that you don’t matter, and I have enough online Likes to prove it!”
The rationale of the 20’s Gen-Z. Ah, the freer, more tolerant world they’re working towards.
Or you could have ignored Splash Mountain and chosen not to go on it if you didn’t like it. The theme didn’t have to change, those that had a problem with it didn’t have to ride it, but they complained and got their way.
Yes, exactly! Those who keep saying, “If you don’t like the change, don’t ride it”, need to take their own advice. The only reason they don’t have to listen to their own advice is because these are the people who complain and always get their way. I wish people would’ve just chosen not to ride Splash Mountain instead of complaining about it.
Considering that the most frequent defender of the old ride is probably the most RACIST poster in all of ITM, I think it is probably a good idea to be against whatever he is for.
The minute a snowflake throws around the word racist, that is my 100 percent guarantee that that person truly IS the real, identifiable racist. No the one he’s complaining about.
Have you ever actually watched the move “song of the south”?
I watched it when all the controversy started and it actually tells a beautiful story about how a father and mother are struggling in their marriage and Uncle Remus steps in teaching the son his stories about Brer Rabbit which help the young boy develop into a young man with good morals.
If you haven’t seen the movie don’t judge it.
I wish this was real. Disney is more concerned with pushing a politically correct narrative than entertaining. Remember those days when they actually ENTERTAINED? Now it’s all about trying to teach us how to be. Does this mean they’ve switched gears from being brilliant entertainers to social educators? If so, bad move. I liked them a lot better when they educated us on animals and things. This crap is unwanted.
When I visited Splash Mountain as a kid in the 90s, I was unimpressed. The characters had absolutely no relevance to me, nor did I find the story to go with the ride all that entertaining. It’s about time it was updated in order to become more relevant, which I’m sure is the driving factor behind the change.
I do absolutely love The Princess and the Frog, however. It’s got a great soundtrack, and a hardworking princess. If I can ever afford to return to the park as an adult, I would love to go on the redesigned Splash Mountain!
Splash mountain is one of our family favorites, it’s one of the ONLY rides that ride MULTIPLE times every trip. And we could NOT be more happier about the updates coming! We love Tiana, and we are SO excited about the Bayou theme! We are actually postponing our 2023 vacation, so we can go in late 2024 JUST so we can go to the newly themed splash mountain!
“If you scour the inter webs” you’d see a lot of the hateful/abusive comments and harassment come from people excited for the change. Why don’t you ever write articles about them? Everyone’s always bullying the people who simply want a new attraction for Tiana and don’t want their favorite ride changed. Call out the other side as well if you’re gonna write articles like this. Be fair.
99%+ don’t want Splash Mountain to be rethemed. We will ride it because we love flume rides in hot weather, but for no other reason. We won’t spend a cent on merchandise for this attraction. Re-theming a beloved attraction is going to divide Disney guests even more than they already are. PATF should have its own attraction in MK, rather a clumsily re-themed attraction that doesn’t fit. Louisiana is a swamp. There are no hills or water rapids. Disney needs to stay away from pretending that it understands New Orleans food or New Orleans culture because it doesn’t. Disney’s version of Louisiana food is a joke.

Things change it’s a fact of life. Don’t like the fact it’s being rethemed don’t ride it when it reopens. I for one will be looking forward to it.

There should not be any of “those people” in the parks to bring with.

Who are “those people” you racist?
Steve
He wasn’t even me (this site doesn’t have registered accounts), so I can only guess.

So you mean me? You probably mean me since you immediately made a post under my name to supposedly prove your point.

Way to go for that individual, they’ve got heart and passion… something Disney Adults and woke folk have no clue about.
Luckily there’s Japans Tokyo Disneyland and those good people won’t be retheming their Splash Mountain.
Steve
Don’t be too sure of that. Wokeney already made them remove “ladies and gentlemen” there.

Get over yourself…..

Completely Re-themed because of Liberal Snowflakes. No other reason.

I agree with you!

10 people complained about splash mountain, so paycheck had to change the theme. Listening to the few. It’s what paycheck does.

No need to take away the animals and their Laughing Place!

If there’s a re-theme, cool. If not , that’s cool too. This seems like a stupid situation to get worked up about.
