  1. Stopped up

Disney needs a plumber to clear their drains. I guess they can’t find one that’s LGBTQP+.

I’m a gay plumber and I find the comments offensive! I am great a cleaning pipes and could get this job done quickly.

I have been on WDW vacations 62 times. I have never seen flooding in the parks to this extent. Yes, there are floods but not like it has been recently. Disney needs to fix their drainage system.

We were there during a terrible storm . We were at fantastic. The sky behind the tower of terror was lightening. We were waiting for cast members to tell us to go. We have 2 wheel chairs to push. They told us as the storm was on top of us. After we started to leave. We were swamped with people. The stores would not allow us inside and we ended up by the concession area . A couple of very nice people waived us over and made room. They said there were lightening rods on each hit roof. And sure enough there are. We also were at MK where it rained so hard as we exited the monster inc laugh floor the water was coming up out of the grates. We ended up in the tunnel by the enterance that is now closed off. You can’t push wheelchairs through the water when it’s at the bottom of the seat

Now for $24 a day per guest per park you can walk in a flood free theme park. Now on theme park plus now on the my Disney experience app!

You guys need to be very careful in Florida thunderstorms you are in a lighting capital state that mean are lighting Strom can get very dangerous people have been hurt very badly and killed its not a joke if you hear thunder stop what you are doing and please go inside please come from a person who lives in Florida just watching out for your safety but you do what you want.

    1. Not afraid

Relax Mike. How long have you lived in FL? Because we aren’t afraid of any weather. Plenty of lightning rods in the parks.

      1. Michael Faussett

I leaved in Florida for almost 37 years and I know about the lighting rods that doesn’t mean the lighting will hit them it can hit any where it wants I for the the school here in Hillsborough county and we have lighting rods on our buildings but lighting half the time lighting don’t hit them so be careful.

We were also there yesterday for the storm. They closed Big Thunder Mountain due to the storm when we were almost to the front of the line. The radar looked awful so we decided to leave. The front of the park was flooding as well, water over our ankles as we left. We made it onto the Monorail (after trudging through water rushing down the covered ramp), sat down, they shut the doors and then they announced that we all had to get off and leave the Monorail area because they were shutting them down. At least two trams appeared stuck on the tracks although one seemed empty. We’re annual pass holders and go all the time so we laughed through it but I felt bad for the people there on vacation.

That is very dangerous, the spread of bacteria and lightening can strike a wheelchair in the water. Disney needs to up-date their drainage system and get down to the source. I wonder if the foul water from the bathrooms get mixed in that soup as well. I avoid MK in the summer around 3 PM.

    1. Poowater

Lightning isn’t going to strike a wheelchair when there are all kinds of lightning rods on the buildings. And why would the bathroom “foul” water get mixed in? Completely different system. When it rains like that there is just too much water… It doesn’t take long for it to drain away

25 years ago I was at the haunted mansion and a downpour occured. The ride was shut down and we were evacuated via backstage passages. Areas near the castle had water above my ankles. There WERE probably bacteria in the water – ever swim in a lake? and no drainage and sewage systems are seperate so nothing else. Drainage cannot be designed for the “freak” storm its impractical. If this freaks you out stay at home with your mask on. It’s called life.

  9. We got caught in this a few times. It’s Florida it rains and WDW floods. You will dry off. Laugh it off and just have a great time.

Hey WDW is still in Florida in the summer. There are monsoons and heat waves. I live out in the Florida boondocks , my yard becomes a ankle to knee deep swamp or the Sahara desert with trees.

  11. Mason

I live in the Florida backwoods and this is a Florida summer: When it monsoons better hope water is only ankle deep and you only evacuate when it becomes knee deep. Now when a heatwave comes never go outside. Unless you are carrying a two liter bottle of water.

Magic kingdom has always been like this. We were in a downpour at night trying to make it to the bus more than 15 years ago. Water was racing past us almost up to our knees. I was carrying our two year old up high and my husband was carrying the stroller and bags on his shoulders. The water ripped off his shoe and sent it down the rapids. It took forever to chase it down!
