Put up more cameras. Catch the jerkwads that do this crap and 86 them from Disney property for 10 years. That would fix it. Or put them in the stocks in front of the Cinderella’s castle and let people throw rotten food at the culprits.
It sure looks ugly in that Space Mountain queue at Disneyland ….. hopefully Disneyland Maintenance will take care of this soon.
Whether it was vandalism by Park Guests, or just wear and tear, Maintenance at Walt Disney Theme Parks has remained an issue over the decades that was often ignored … until the internet changed that. Disney Fans posting images online has forced Team Disney to handle things vs ignoring them.
I think Chapek has gutted not only the staff levels, but also the maintenance budget. There is trash all over both parks, more rides down at both parks – more than I ever remember being down, repeatedly. Chapek just wants every penny we have left to spend, he doesn’t care what we get in return, in fact he’s reduced what we get in return at the parks and the hotels, while charging us more than ever.
It’s not Disney’s fault
People are horrible. Disney should get tighter on kicking people out of the park with no refund that do litter and trash the park. It’s not hard to ask people to be decent humans – it’s not a right to be at the parks it’s a privilege. Kicking out or banning people from the parks won’t hurt their bottom line – they’re still gonna make good money.
This is because Chapek only cares about money and not using it towards keeping the Parks maintained as Walt would have. Get your wallet out of your back pocket, Bob, and spend the money to make the Parks look “Disney” again.
For those that say this isn’t Disney’s Fault you are living in a Fantasy World pun intended. While it may have been a guest I am figuring that it was a maintenance issue first and then a guest issue second. If the wall paper had been maintained properly guests would not have been able to tear it. My guess is that guests thought it was cheap souvenir. A certain percentage of the people will always damage things because they think it is fun to do. Walt knew this and thus the reason for some of the design features in the parks such as the placement of Trash cans. One of the big things was the maintenance that was performed overnight after the parks closed. With the cuts in staffing and the almost elimination of the overnight staff this is not done now. This noticeable in the overall condition of the parks and the constant breakdowns of attractions. For those that want an even better show of this, here you go. Back in the 90’s and even early 2000’s and before you never saw partial decorations in the parks. I remember going to the parks several times during a holiday switch. The one that I remember best was a Christmas change over at Magic Kingdom. We were in the park and it was still in the non-holiday decorations. The next day we went and it was completely transformed for the Christmas season. A truly amazing thing. Now it is slowly changed over and while it is done during non guest hours it still is not that magical over night transformation.
They have no respect at all .. they etch on the bathroom mirrors .. they try to take bricks off the streets .. throw food in the q line .. change oil 🛢 in the parking garage.. steal merchandise anything they can get their fkn hands on ..
This is entirely on the guest.I am a cast member.Guests think by buying a ticket they can destroy anything they want .Society today has no morals Parents should not be parents.Its discusting how people are today
In the article it mentions Disney Cruise line. Sadly crew members on Cruise ships are paid a small fraction of what the probably underpaid maintenance shoreside staff is paid.
This is really all about the 5th Key Disney added during covid. They have become a glorified carnival conning people for cash. They don’t care at all about the standards or processes Walt had in place. Go woke. Go broke.
