I once saw a cast member in the Indiana jones Adventure in Adventureland at Disneyland yell at people to keep the line moving and was patting people on the back to move as well! When he then lightly patted the back of an eight year old girl to move along, her dad politely said can you please not touch her like that. And the cast member looked at him and said and I quote, “Don’t tell me what to do, this is America”!! OMG AND WOW🙄🙄🙄

Now Disney is the creepiest gaslighting place on earth, next to Joe’s teleprompter. Repeat line.

And all fairness I will say I have not been to Disney post Covid but in all the years that I have gone I have only experienced one rude cast member I will chalk it up to them being young and hope that if they’re there still they’ve matured. I understand when everything first opened and they were super short staffed I can understand frustrations especially with the way they were treated by people expecting way more than they were entitled to. However I will say even if they are still short staffed but at this point we are far enough along that to continue using Covid as an excuse for behavior is inappropriate. You took the job, you did the job and you’re still there. It’s time to rise and shine and become the magic that you were hired for. And fairness it definitely works both ways. People of been able to travel for a while now and it’s time people drop the “I’m entitled to everything because I’m paying big bucks” because everybody who goes there is paying big bucks. If you can’t go on vacation and understand that everybody else wants to vacation and the place is going to be packed then you need to stay home. Kindness works both ways for both guests and cast mates.

Have to say post pandemic Disney is definitely beyond toxic. My knee gave out in a Galaxy’s Edge store and I hit the ground hard. Almost took several shelves with me. A CM came up and told me I could not sit on the ground and I had to get up and leave. I attempted to explain what happened, even though I know they saw me fall, and they literally yelled at me to leave.

My husband came to help me and I went full “I want to see you manager” Karen. Got the manager, pointed out the CM and made certain they could hear what I was saying.

This was only one episode that happened on my last trip. We will never go to Disney again. We went to Universal and their customer service was above excellent.

There are alot of guests these days that feel their are entitled and are rude and very difficult. So it goes both ways.

It’s funny you say that because the last times I’ve gone I have only seen people tired and frustrated. That doesn’t equate to rude and difficult to me. On the other hand I have experienced some weird gaslighting from CMs that I never used to experience. Too many people are complaining. Disney is no longer anywhere near as magical, fun, special, and excellent as it used to be. Iger started the downward spiral, and Chapek made the spiral go a million miles an hour.

I’m going to laud the cast member who saw me give a Disney pin from my own collection to a child and then bought me a churro as a thank you for helping to add to the magic.
