So sad to hear the Prop shop is closing as that was one of the attractions that I got picked to be a part of and it gave me props with my kids for years! (I was very shy back then due to the now ex). I have gone back to it every time I went to Universal. (We had AP for years). Sometimes you have to keep the Oldies but goodies so the new generation can see what their grandparents and parents are talking about as being their favorites!
It is not the purpose or function of a theme park to defend the queer population. It is their purpose and function to entertain the general public, which is what they do, and they do it well. Half your issue is you feel that it is up to everyone, including businesses, to pander to your feelings forcing others to make you feel validated. People do not have to accept who or what you are, they only have to acknowledge it.
Although I would not defend Nem’s outrageous claim, I also think you are being a bit harsh. Please don’t judge an entire
Minority population because of one arrogant comment.
They should take all these classic rides.. Jaws, BTTF, Ghostbusters King Kong, Stunt show spectacular etc… and open up a “classic” Theme park in another state… I think they would profit rather well.
I’m an all access vip holder, and each and year, I ask myself why.
I have purchased so much awesome stuff at the prop shop. I am going to miss that place if they close it. I hope they will find a different way to sell the props. Getting a little piece from the store to add to the collection we have was kinda of a tradition. We buy plenty of t-shirts and other mass produced souvenirs you can get in the park but there was always something special about getting something from the prop shop.
I brought a dress from there Dec 2022 for $150 thinking it was an antique only to find a TJ Maxx tag for $24.99 tucked underneath the dress…felt completly ripped off and did not expected that from Universal Studios

If they actually defended the queer population, they wouldn’t be hurting so muchz
