    Obi-Wan-ting
It has about the same flavor as the lame chicken nuggets I ate on board the Halcyon in April, a little crunchy, a little salty, very little fun.

    1. Albert Tabler

Why did you even go on that overpriced overhyped hotel attraction whatever the hell it was?

  2. TotalDramaDisney

Well, that’s just their opinion. I’ve been LOVING this show!

    1. Erik

us too….I don’t really get all the hate directed at the show…I think it’s fine and we are enjoying it. *shrug*

      1. Victor Nazarian

Hate isn’t the same as Disappointment. Most of us are disappointed because we’ve seen Obi-Wan In time periods both before and after this TV show time and he’s better in both of those.

        1. Erik

I guess I can understand that to a point…. but the way I’m viewing it a person can be very strong and then go through a dark period where they are broken and it’s only coming out the other side that makes them stronger than ever. So I don’t need Obi Wan to be at his best—he is basically clinically depressed during the time period of the series… battling his demons and mourning the loss of Anakin and the Jedi… isolated and broken which makes him feel weak, apathetic, without purpose and, dare we say, even afraid… and the point of the series is to show his struggle to fight back from that dark place to reclaim and fulfill his purpose.

          1. DAHVEED

Great reply. Wish more fans would take on this point of view.

          2. Caleb

I guess it comes down to whether it actually fits the character. Think about where obi wan was at the end of episode 3. He left to watch over the twins, leaving Leia in the care of Bail Organa and his wife. Obi wan then goes to tatooine to watch over Luke and at the same time commune with the force ghost of his master Qui Gon Jinn , which is how Obi Wan learned the force technique that let him disappear when fighting Vader later. So would it be in the character of a jedi like him to be broken when he has been communing with his master, friend and father figure? Also one of the main points of disappointment were also fans not being able to see hayden christensen as vader. There is the possibility of that happening but fans these days dont have alot of hope given shows like GoT and how it ended, cowboy bebop and how that flopped, and how creators of shows have been blaming fans for the failure of these shows. This is the result of a growing divide between the consumers(fans) and the companies.

      2. Naj

        I love Obi-wan!
        It’s not a movie, guys, it’s television.
They take longer to tell a story and laying background is slower.
I loved the action. His Force skills are sharpening again. Let it
        play out.

        1. SiestaBear

No, you are incorrect. Television has episodes that are individual and start and finish within 45 min.
The new Star Wars series have a bad writing trend of looong draaaawn out poorly potted stories like Picard and Loki, also failures.

          1. Jared

Loved Loki. You should probably be less critical.

            You will enjoy it more.

      3. Johnny Levy

Couldn’t disagree with the fans more. The same fans bag on everything released since Disney purchased the IP.

“Fans” that hate the content are not fans..

        1. BigD

They are also the fans who ragged on the prequels and then when Disney did things to make them happy with the force awakens they ragged on them. Then they got pissed with the last Jedi. There’s 20% of the fan base that will never be happy plain and simple.

          1. SiestaBear

            Everything you mentioned is bad.
At 2022 we expect good writing acting direction and the only thing good about Obi wan mini series is Flea and John Williams.

      4. SiestaBear

Hate? When did pointing out the bad acting, bad director, horrible script, terrible fighting scenes, and blatant politics become “hate?”

        1. Luke

Amazing. Every word of what you just said was wrong.

          1. SiestaBear

You find that amazing? Shows how you have no clue what is well made or poorly made.

          2. used to a star wars fan

That’s the person’s opinion which they are entitled to!

        2. Frank

When is asking people not to throw racist comments at an African-American actress considered politics?

          1. SiestaBear

When you grow up the answer will be understood.

          2. Kys

Oh please, there has been very little racism towards her, but TONS of issues with her subpar acting abilities.

Disney is using the racism angle to deflect.

      5. Michael Hall

I’m not sure what fans were expecting from a soft ex-Jedi coming out of retirement after a decade.

How would any of us be in the same situation?

    2. Chris Wood

For the most part, obi wan is pretty good. But I do agree with one of the critics, Reva is getting way to much time on the show.. They built up the grand inquisitor, but he isn’t even in the show. I think personally the fans could get behind Reva, me especially if the inquisitors had their own serise hunting the jedi and not filler space for Obi Wan.

    3. I don’t get these toxic fans just be damn grateful we get to see prequel characters again and order 66 and clonetroopers if you don’t have anything nice to say about the show then stop watching it and kick rocks don’t ruin it for everyone else

      1. Bill ho

Exterminate the mouse. Obi-what is this crap. What a horrible show. Disney? You suk

  3. This all feels like deja vu from that time long ago after getting home from watching the prequels and surprised to see all the complaints. I don’t know what people expected but I’ve been glued to the screen every episode.

  4. David F. Young

It seems everyone’s a Star Wars expert. How about just watching the episodes and enjoying. If not turn the channel. You can always watch Jimmy Kimmel.

    1. SiestaBear

Kimmel? The leftist nonsense? No thanks. Rather see Book of Boba Shett.

    2. Bill ho

I’d rather watch cats ffuk in an ally

  5. Marcus

This is ridiculous. It’s a terrific show. The Star Wars nuts need to get a life.

    1. RG

Well I am enjoying the show very much. If you are a true Star Wars fan, you know that there is a bit of build up time at first, that finally crescendos, & then that’s what makes these stories great. So if you’re going to complain, just don’t watch, & let the true Star Wars fans enjoy that there are still stories associated with the OG trilogy.

      1. Rob Jones

Enjoying the show but did think episode three had some inconsistencies with Vader so quick to let old Ben flee so easily. Still entertaining and glad to have another Star Wars series.

    2. SiestaBear

The fact that you think bad acting and terrible direction with immature writing is terrific says you don’t hold quality to high regard.

  6. candynicole

I don’t think people are satisfied anymore. Complaining is what people do now…. My husband and I both love the series! They’ve done a great job. They did well on the villains cause I don’t like them especially sister 3! Love seeing her defeat in the last episode when Leia and Ainu got away.

    1. Mrocguy

You left out the most important character.

  7. AH

The series is ok. I really liked Boba over all but I did not want Mando taking what seemed half the season. The effects on all the series are awesome as is the girl who plays princess lea.

  8. John

This article is crap. It focuses on the toxic so-called “fanbase”. I’ve been a fan since the beginning and love the show. These opinion driven articles are just garbage.

    1. A.H

Great show, I think people are complaining because even though the episodes are good, people are getting bored. I don’t find this the case at all, but I do agree that Reva has just a bit too much screen time (good character, but slightly less focus would’ve been better). Anakin should (hopefully) come in soon, with Star Wars the build-up takes forever so I’d expect to wait until the next episode or possibly last episode.

      1. SiestaBear

Darth Vader had the least screen time in Star Wars (1977) but he didn’t need it. His brutality was what made him scary. People didn’t even care who he was or why, they just loved how much of a bad ass his was.
Reva is not given that kind of power therefore people have to know more about her to understand and we are not given that.
Is she stupid and uneducated? She seems so because history would have taught her that The Jedi have no cause to kill children. Has she been fed propaganda like North Korea or Russia or Leftists in Portland?
The people involved in current Star Wars don’t understand how to make entertaining films.
Jon Favreau was the best so far because he doesn’t have political angst to prove.

  9. Jess

I agree with a lot of points here but there’s a common theme here. All the male characters like Boba and obi are beta male woke weaklings. (Disnified). Mando kicks butt, so do his ratings. Why is Top Gun did so well? It’s about a guy, patriotic and tough. Not woke. Make obi a man again.

    1. Chris

      Agreed!

  10. Bob

The show is awesome! It’s the F’ing douche bags that take themselves and a fake tv show way to serious! They will ruin it not only for themselves but everyone else with their whinny BS. Grow the F up! Its a fictional story for no other purpose than entertaining people!

    1. Will

      Yeah. But it’s not entertaining!

    2. Tim

So you’re a d bag if you think this show sucks, or the writing is sub par and the acting is awful? You’re a d bag if you don’t find it entertaining and Vice your opinion? Interesting.

      1. Justin

Don’t ask questions. Just consume product. Then get excited for next product.

    3. Bill ho

It’s a very poorly executed show and this is America and if I want to express my opinion I will do so. I would love to see you stop me. Punk

  11. SG

I’m loved it and can’t wait for more!

  12. Janelle

I absolutely LOVE OBI series I only wish I could binge I can’t wait for next week’s episode love love love it !!!!!!

  13. Janelle

Maybe it’s the person who wrote this article isn’t a fan I love the show please continue it

  14. Mike

Imagine that….twitter idiots hate something good. 🤦‍♂️ Love every minute of this series.

  15. Jamie Coughlin

It’s OK for me but when you call a show the name of a character you should make it about that character, not use the character to prop up a new one that nobody asked for. I like Reva and she’s a fine villain but then you hear she is getting her own show and you realize why Obi Wan is about Reva, not Obi Wan. Why her own show? She’s evil and even a turn to the good does not undo the evil she has already done. Do we need to know why she’s evil. We can assume BAD THINGS were done to her but that does not excuse doing evil things later on. The sissification of Obi Wan is obviously going to get old time Star Wars fans mad, new ones don’t know how the character has been destroyed. Lucasfilm just can’t get the message that this plan of action does not work, they just keep repeating it.

  16. Jackie Simpson

I Love Obi’ Wan! Ewan McGregor is great in that role & always has been

  17. Heather Stanley

We are really enjoying it, in spite of toxic Star Wars Fans

  18. Mr b

We are extremely enjoying this show. Complainers should get a life. What were they expecting? This show is bridging the gap between two different times. Love it.

  19. John Doe

Really hit the nail on the head. Many like myself don’t dislike the series; we’re just really getting disappointed. Granted the show has the highest expectations probably since ep 7’s release (which I’ve done my best to try to forget), but with each episode, the disappointment just keeps mounting. They’re hardly using Hayden at all to the point where its curious why they even brought him back, gotten next to nothing with Uncle Owen and Aunt Beru, and I haven’t seen nearly enough to justify how much they’re altering the timeline. The bacta tank at the beginning of ep 4 was such a great opportunity for flashbacks and pretty much the only flashbacks we’ve gotten, minus the 2-minute Order 66 scene, has just been replayed movie clips. I like the series on its own, but these next two episodes have got to be amazing; otherwise, the show has failed to really justify its existence in my opinion.

  20. Greg

I’m a big star wars fan I’m 52 now grew up with it had almost every toy when they were good by Kenner so watching this show w my son who he grew up watching star wars too this show is very bad the whole story is made up this never happened I feel like I’m watching a stupid disney movie & the character reva is bad she doesnt know how to act doesnt fit in with star wars no class tbey might as well have cast cardi b she probably wouldve done a better job. The biggest mistake was George selling it to disney they have ruined it last good star wars movie was rouge one. George Lucas please save star wars.

  21. Alec Guiness played the elder Kenobi in New Hope. He was fearless, full of resolve, confident, skilled. The consumate JEDI. He was NOT this doubtful, unconfident coward portrayed by who else..Kathleen Kennedy. This was your last shot. I gave you several “last chances”. This was your last “last chance”. This is one of entertainments greatest disappointments. Goodbye forever.

  22. Rodd222

I think these detractors are tripping. The show is just fine. The action and suspense are great. I’d like to see the 5th Brother get more action but overall the show isn’t underwhelming in the least. It’s crazy how some people just like to be negative. I think the show is doing great, just what I had expected.

  23. Fdisney

For everyone who said they like the show. How?! I mean its ok but are we watching the same series? Did you not see the same leah chase scene that i saw? Did you not see the horrie disguise in episode 4 of obi wan hiding leah under a trench coat and no one noticed!? With reva trying to sound scary in episode 2? That was super cringe. How about when the guy driving transport doesn’t say anything to the stormtroopers patroling but then at the gate? What about how when obi wan takes out all the troopers at the gate at least 5-7 of them. Then when thry open the gate and run he surrenders to 3 troops? How does that make sense? Seriously anyone complimenting this show must be amused by the most basic of basic entertainment.

    2. A.H

      Also-
1- he didn’t say anything to patrollers because Obi Wan and Leia was listening, and would’ve escaped if he alerted troops right in front of them.
2- Leia is like 10 here, how did you expect her to try and escape?
3- he surrendered to the troopers at the gate because they had blasters aimed directly at him and Leia, while the other ones weren’t ready to fight
4- Leia is very small, stop whining

  24. I.S.

All disney pseudo star wars sucks. Nothing compares to classic, prequel and expanded universe. disney people have no feel of real star wars. obi ban series sucks.

  25. Jay

Not sure what the hate is about. I’ve been a Star Wars fan since 1977. This new Obi-Wan show is top notch. Huge Vader fan and this shows Vader in his Prime.

  26. BierOntap

I don’t like sad, pathetic, wimpy Obi Wan anymore than sad, pathetic, wimpy Luke. Not good.

  27. Frank

In the words of the Immortal Comic Book Guy: “Worst Star Wars article ever!”

  28. Kennedy always hypes things and ultimately ruins them by doing so. She should be removed and Filoni handed the keys. Obi Wan isn’t bad. It’s just a story in-between movies. That’s all. Everyone needs to accept that.

  29. David P. Lieberman

Obi Wan is an exciting new spinoff series from the movie franchise. Every episode and characterization is uniquely Stars Wars and very much in tune with Lucas’ original feel. I’m an original Star Wars fan from the premiere of A New Hope in 1977, now 62 years old, and don’t see what all the negative commotion is for a really excellent, well produced TV version Star Wars series. I also got into the Boba Fett series and the Mandalorian in the recent past. Fans need to chill out, relax and enjoy the offerings. If it isn’t “extreme” enough for you, try watching Halo on Paramount + or Raised By Wolves on HBO Plus.

  30. Steve

People are just complaining too much just to complain this is a great show

  31. Isaac

This show is great. These bad reviews all started when there was push back to racist messages sent to Moses.

  32. Rob

All shows have some poor episodes the mandolorian was fantastic but still had poor episodes as with book of fett. Kenobi beens great if you know back stories and watched clone wars and read the comics u have a much better understanding I love kenobi think its been great.

  33. Luke

The fighting scenes with obi are kinda lame. He is very slow alot of the blasters would of killed him. And obi complains alot I’m kinda getting a batman feeling from him. A baby

  34. Tex

I loved the series so far. I don’t understand why it’s a weekly release. Just release them all at once. They’re all

  35. Pete

Definitely not one of those losing hope or disappointed with the show, here. I’ve been really enjoying it and I’ve also been a fan of Star Wars all my life. I have seen all of the movies and also everything they’ve put out on TV, including Clone Wars and Rebels.

I love what they’ve done overall and I think this show is on the right track. It gets all the most important stuff right in my eyes: Obi, Vader, Leia, Bail, the sets and the look and feel, etc. I’m still on the fence about Reva, but I like her character overall. I like that I’m still guessing how she’s going to end up at the end of the season. The ONLY thing I can say negative is I find the Inquisitors to be a bit clumsily written, at least at the start, but I don’t think it’s even CLOSE to ruining the show or anything like that. I really don’t want to make a complete judgment about the show until all the episode are out.

Not all Star Wars fans are taking such a negative slant on the show, I can tell you that!

  36. Dj

The shaggy dog obiwan, honestly like every Skywalker related Star Wars produced since Disney took over is just hopeless and sad. There is no sense in any of it of the power of the force and optimism that underpinned the original franchise. I get that Obiwan is dealing with the ultimate defeat but I don’t like that through 4 episodes I get no sense that Obiwan has any agency, he just seems to be getting by. It’s just kind of sad and there is no other parts of the story that seem to be positioned to change that. It just seems like a missed opportunity. Every creator of star wars since Disney took over seems dedicated to making fun of the optimism of the both the originals and the prequels.

  37. GR

This show is awful. There’s simply no other way to put it. Horribly written. I feel bad for Ewan McGregor, this was supposed to redeem him from the lackluster prequels and it’s even worse. Disney really needs to reassess who’s in charge of SW.

  38. Nate

I think it’s great! Fanboy Neck beards whine about everything.

  39. Jason

I’ve stopped caring about what this toxic fanbase thinks about anything to be honest.

  40. Justin

Don’t ask questions. Just consume product. Then get excited for next product.

  41. CraxyD

FTA: “…and fan theories not coming true…”

This is THE problem that has plagued the fandom since TLJ. Neckbearded, gatekeeping, toxic fans on social media make me want to stomp on some Hoojibs.. Yes, RJ and JJ totally screwed the pooch. Filoni, Favreau, Chow, Howard and the rest rescued it.

  42. Nick

The problem I have is that Disney wants to create their own characters and stories, but they also want to capitalize on the nostalgia and recognition of the older characters, so they just slam the old characters into the stories they want to tell without any consideration to what the characters would actually do. What we get is a story that fails both independently and with respect to the existing universe, because it destroys the characters that star wars fans love. All the main characters of the original trilogy are being destroyed because Disney just wants to tell their own stories and doesn’t care about the fans or the source material. This content doesn’t exist in a vacuum.

  43. Nick

I also hate how any time someone points out flaws in the material that they get labeled as a toxic fan. It’s possible to be fan and dislike content. In fact, fans tend to have the most understanding of the story and would be most upset with poor treatment of characters. And to say, “if you don’t like it just don’t watch it” is as much gatekeeping too. I used to be the biggest star wars fan, all the videogames, books, and other content kept me happy even though there weren’t forty movies or TV episodes coming out every year. It’s because the content was new and original or built on existing characters instead of tearing them down. It’s been hard for me personally because star wars was something that helped me through some really difficult times, and now the characters that I loved are being assassinated. Yeah, there are some racist and far right fans that suck and should be fought or ignored, but there are way more people that love the new inclusiveness but are heartbroken about the way Disney has handled the story and characters.

  44. Stu

I disagree with the title of this article. My comment isn’t one of plummeting of this series. And I’m not losing hope.
I liked The Book of Boba Fett series & I think with the exception of the first episode of Obi-Wan, the series has been really good ! I look forward to watching each new episode every single week ! May the force be with you …. And the writers, producers & directors too !

  45. Scott

Episode V was incredible! Can’t wait for the finale!

  46. L. Byrd Sr

I think the series is GREAT!!! I have no problem with it whatsoever and it’s falling in line with ALL the stories already told! Anyone taking issues with I just have no clue what they’re looking for BUT this was great and I expect it will complete explain the unresolved years between storylines……Great job actors and script writers

  47. L. Byrd Sr

I’ve seen Star Wars since the very beginning back in the late 70’s it’s always been amazing and I’m just happy to see it last this long and pull in so many more generations to enjoy it-
All of these sideline stories are excellent and enjoyable to watch! Some of Y’all need to sit back relax and enjoy the shows or look for something else because Star Wars obviously isn’t for You

  48. Wil Mack

Well the Me 2 moment has ruined another Star Wars project that had great potential. 1st the last movies where they just had to have the whole story revolve the Rae character instead of actually using Ben Skywalker (Luke’s actual son who turned to the dark side at some point but turned back to the light before sacrificing himself)
Now Reva a character that’s getting way to much screen time that no one cares about .
Episodes are so badly written that even Ewen McGregor great acting cannot save them. (Come on Leia being the only one who can fit into the maintenance crawl space to fix the hanger doors problem)
It feels as if this show was written for the Disney XD age group..

  49. Dirk

Disney should take note of the writing, creativity and actor chemistry from Stranger Things. That show knows show to tell a story and use good casting to find characters to tell it. Great show and so compelling. Problem with Disney is their predictability and overall boring story telling. Their high and mighty, out-of-touch replies to criticism…There is a difference between hate and criticism.
