Yes, they managed to screw it up. No surprises tho, coming from the same folks who screwed up the Boba Fett series. The same bad acting (Ewan is ok), bad sound track, bad cinematography, poorly written story, cheesy characters, poor directing, etc.
Sorry Ewan, ya shoulda just said “No”.

I don’t know who is giving this low rating but obviously they have no taste and are not true star wars fans, I have been waiting years to see this story and it so far has not disappointed.

Yeah sure… the Leia chase scenes must have put you on the edge of your seat. LOL Im just waiting until have Leia shooting force lighting by the end of the show and this Reva outdueling Vader.

This is BS “I hate everything that doesn;t suite me” attitude. These shows are MADE FOR KIDS for crying out loud. They sometimes seem a bit wonky, and others come extremely cost to the edge of what a parent would allow, but in all, the Star Wars universe is made for the pre-teen crowd. Enjoy it at that level, or be gone with you.

I’m so done with the “please me” crap of my generation of Star Wars fans (“A New Hope” was the second movie I ever saw as a kid growing up – the first was “Superman”) who cannot remember their own first go at Star Wars and now wants everything Star Wars to grow up with them. That’s not how this is supposed to work you entitled pricks!!!

Get over your self righteousness yourself! This show is made for all, not just kids. So far, it’s been depressing, sloppy and riddled with continuity errors. Whether it is a “kids show” or not, as you say, adults are writing it and they can do better in their homework and probably didn’t vet the series against the details or other movies. I’m only hoping that Leia gets her mind erased about meeting Obi-Wan because that’s a big deal plot hole wise. Most everything else can be fixed. But the hologram Leia sends in Episode 4 is quite important.

You’re an idiot. Dude you reply to everyone. We get it. You have no life. Get off the internet loser

The RT score is BS. It’s teenagers run amuck trying to cause havoc in the Internet by leaving fake score. . Why? Because look at what’s happened. Look at the chaos it causes, they can effect the a fandom in a huge way just by lying online and EVERYONE falls for it. The fan base is so touchy that it works perfectly. Ignore the Internet, it’s all lies and 15 kids in puberty just screwing with you because they know it works. They only push the buttons they know so something

You have evidence of this or are guessing?

  5. Pete

Ugh, just give everything to Feige and Favreau, please!!!! They are the only ones who really understand the SW universe and fanbase (glares at Kennedy and yes, Lucas).

    Episode #3 was excellent..
I’m guessing that the complainers are in some kind of YouTube money swindle..

This black woman actress was set-up to fail by Disney. Disney made it known that they strongly back/are pushing for the idea of racial & gender employment. It’s a divisive issue, with many people taking the side that this is in fact the epitome of “racism”; now publicly corporately-driven. So given this foundation, we have a brand-new/created-for-this series character. One who doesn’t look alien like the other Inquisitors, and doesn’t have any skin-alterations, etc.

So due to Disney’s positions…of COURSE half of the audience says “O gee…look at this very convenient character meeting the Disney’s publicly announced racial agenda”. Reva 15 years ago would have “gotten over” so much better. Now the character, due to bad writing and corporate mandate becomes Darth Virsity; or D. Virsity for short.

Just like with anything else Disney gets their hands on, they ruin it. This is just another show geared to a lowbrow audience unfortunately, and it’s amazing how many people think this garbage is good. How about the HUGE plot hole by having a young Princess Leia in there, so she doesn’t remember anything when she sends the message with R2 in A New Hope? And if OBI-WAN and Darth Vader meet up, yet another deviation from A New Hope. Face it people and stop trying so hard to defend this crap, Disney is ruining everything TRUE Fans hold dear. And yes it is “Woke” and by the low rating, more people than not are finally starting to say enough is enough.

Great work loved it can’t wait to see more Seasons keep up I give it 99%

DISNEY HAS NO CLUE. We fans are upset that Obi-Wan Kenobi is reduced to a feeble-minded, physically weak baby-sitter who is afraid of his own shadow. He spends episode 3 basically running and hiding from Darth Vader. In ‘The Last Jedi,’ Luke Skywalker is turned into an angry hermit who contemplated killing his own nephew, and is in hiding, long after the Empire was defeated. DISNEY HAS NO CLUE.

So, that’s why Kenobi is by far the most-watched Star Wars feature on Disney Plus to date then, right? Because I keep reading pathetic whiny crap like this, but then the vast majority of actual fans (like me, an OG since I first saw the original at the drive-in theater on its second run in 1978) seem to be tuning in to the D+ shows in record numbers and just keep begging for more. Review bombing on Rotten Tomatoes might be fun for Incel losers with too much time on their hands, but like it or not there’s a whole lot more where this came from, because most of the fandom loves it and wants it, and no one really cares about the haters.

I assume the RT numbers are a combination of trolls and bots trying to libel a show whose actual ratings are off the charts. Not that the show is perfect. None of them have been. Even the Mandalorian had to fight the fact that it was a TV show, with a TV show’s budget and the inertia that TV brings.

I loved how often it felt cinematic, as if we’d somehow gotten a sneak peak at an unreleased Star Wars movie. But there were also episodes when it felt like TV – like we were watching a weekly installment that knew it was a weekly installment.

There was more of this with Boba Fett. Fans hated that they were watching a broken-down Boba Bett who seemed to have started over as a good guy, although I’d argue that being the star of the show doesn’t necessarily make you a “good guy.” Just as so many fans hated Solo because they didn’t want to see how Han became Han, they blasted Boba Fett for being too cute. Some of those criticisms hit the bullseye but that overlooks how often Boba Fett was actually breathtaking, some of the coolest TV on TV.

But all these TV shows have an Achilles heel, which is their TV format and TV budget. If you compare any of them to something like The Force Awakens (from the divisive Sequel Trilogy) there’s a certain downshift in adrenalin. Even the scenes involving space travel feel more domesticated. In some scenes, it’s more obvious that we’re on a soundstage, which automatically drenches everything in a TV aesthetic.

It’s hard watching Obiwan mope around, episode after episode, but that’s also because it hasn’t paid off yet. Things could get very exciting in the next four episodes – as they should. I like annoyingly assertive Leia. I like annoyingly protective Uncle Owen. I like Reva. She’s badass. I liked the truck ride through the desert. I thought combat-ready Vader was stellar.

I suspect this series will remain affected by its TV aesthetics. It’s too bright, with too much cuteness and production design and action that comes off as too tame. It needs to feel rougher, more Wild West, more visceral. But every Wednesday I’m there – and not for nothing. Let the haters hate. The show is still flawed but worthy.

As with any statement that a huge corporation releases…the devil is in the details. Disney isn’t using the same metrics they’ve used when they say Obi Wan is doing so well.
    – It was the first SW D+ show released on a Friday/weekend. All other on Wed. Most viewership for Wed-launched shows get big views Wed-Fri. Ob1’s weekend release changes the ballgame.
    – There were two episodes release as well. So double the hours released at one time.

…so be suspect when you see things like “most watched hours”, etc.

  14. If all u came here to do is tell everyone why U don’t like the show, fine but I like the show, its cast ,Little Leia is Awesome.
Ben is my OG jedi. Also,if u r a TRUE Fan then U get why Ben is in the shape and mind set.Once again its been 3 episodes and if u din’t get some chills when Vader showed up ,U Just Don’t get it and Never will.

Angry incels voting on a website is irrelevant.

This show is the best Star Wars to come out in the past 10 years and I’ve enjoyed quite a bit of the new stuff. I wouldn’t take Rotten Tomatoes opinion of anything anymore, there are a lot of trolls over there.

  17. Jeffrey

You’re stoking the fan controversy. Obi-Wan is widely popular.

According to the reviews that I have seen and the audience that I have spoken to, the whole reason for them making the announcement that they had the green light for season 2 was because of the overwhelming audience support and ratings 🤷‍♂️
