  1. Had me glued to every moment of each episode.. it would be a tragedy to end it now

    1. Ben G.

I totally agree there should be multiple seasons on Obi wan kenobi

    2. Larry the Jedi

I’m all for new episodes. I enjoyed it immensely. I saw a new hope when I was 7 when it came out. Changed my life. As strange as it sounds these movies have been a wonderful escape when I’m in a hard spot in life. A fantasy world to escape too I guess. All the newer movies have there flaws, so what. I watch them as if I’m a kid again, or they just bring me to that place IDK. Anyways I believe there are too many people who expect too much. Just enjoy what there putting out. The day they add homosexuality or Trans into it will be the day I stop watching though. These movies are for kids, just as George Lucas wanted them to be. If I’m not able to watch it with my kids, we’ll grandkids now, then I won’t watch it at all. I’d really be interested in seeing Luke and Leah’s life as they grow up. I’ll luv Star Wars till death do us part, same with my 5 children.

  2. Karen S

Yes, can’t wait for season 2

  3. David

The story about Leia was almost as weak as they made Ben Kenobi for the first 4 episodes. No more episodes. Time to move on. Move to Grand Admiral Thawn and/or Admiral Daala.

    1. Bob bob

      Absolutely! This is exactly correct.

      1. Stephen Crosby

I’m not sure yet I have watched all the episodes. I’m still processing my thoughts on the show

    2. Atlas Shrugged

The whole thing was weak, with everyone behaving irrationally and foolishly and plot holes large enough to fly the Death Star through.

The worst was Reva as her character boiled down to “I spent the last decade murdering, mutilating, torturing and enslaving countless innocent Jedis, men, women and children in order to avenge some children being murdered.”

Yeah, sorry lady, but that doesn’t make you a hero or even an anti-hero – if you honestly wanted to avenge the younglings then you should have devoted yourself to finding and stopping the Inquisitors from murdering Jedis and capturing force sensitive children until you were powerful enough to force Vader to hunt you down and confront you.

      1. Scott

But she’s not trying to be a hero… and she was clearly trying to do whatever it took to gain favour. By serving Vader, earning her reputation and status as a loyal Inquisitor, and rising in the ranks, she’d be able to get close to him. Then strike.

Plus she hadn’t really been an active Inquisitor for too long. She was 10ish during 66, so 20 during Kenobi. Probably sent out at 17 after being trained.

    3. Daniel

Yup! This was a bad show with SOME good moments. Nothing more.

  4. Michael

Wait, I thought according to all your other articles bashing it that it was a huge bust 😉 lol. Also Last Jedi was 2017 not 2018.

    1. Phil Davis

      They are definitely bipolar.

    2. Chris

Yes, who writes this garbage? “Reportedly “ had that many viewers.
      I’m skeptical.

    3. Atlas Shrugged

It was a bust – the first episode had 2.14 million viewers over four days while they’re saying the final one had 1.8 million over five days – that’s a loss of 16% of viewers and is likely more like 20% due to that extra day being tossed into the count.

  5. Chris Kinney

You would be a fool to deem The Mandalorian a “miss”.

    1. Bob bob

The Mandalorian remains the highest rated. Rotten Tomatoes:
      Boba: 66%
      Mando: 93%
      Obi: 83%
That’s how I would order them, too. But I would say:
      Boba: 30%
      Obi: 50%
      Mano: 90%

  6. Kanan Doom

Mandalorian S3 deemed unsuccessful if it doesn’t get the views of Obi-Wan? You underestimate the POWAH of Mando’s MERCHANDISING!!!

    1. Daniel

The Grogu cash cow is alive and well. Disney isn’t creating another absolute king for merch like that again. And merch is where 90% of the revenue is made.

  7. AJ

Would love to see another season based on Luke & Obi-Wan learning from Qui-Gon.

    1. Raven

I honestly think they should redo the first season, the lady named Noah was dreadful, and to just add such terrible actors to a George Lucas film, which originally wasn’t Disney, all of this TV show was blasphemy.

      1. Bob bob

It was for the most part, garbage. They are clearly struggling to find a story that might be considered part of canon, but they’re just riffing here, and using some low quality actors with poor dialogue.

        1. Daniel

          Spot. on.

    2. Ben G.

Would love to see more of the Obi-Wan Kanobi series! I’m sure there’s a lot to tell about Kanobi and The Force!

    3. AC

That would be the definition of continuity error.
Luke won’t meet Ben til about 8 to 10 years later. Any how is Ben supposed to age as much as he had in that little bit of time.

  8. Justin

I mean how and why would you compare the two… where Obi-Wan follows 3 main characters along the main storyline and connects the prequels and originals (f*** the sequels). Vs Mado, while an amazing character and story. Follows what can be said is a side character. He’s pretty much charting his own territory and setting his own story. I don’t see how you can even compare them. Both are amazing and successful stories, why not just congratulate them both on their individual successes?

    1. Atlas Shrugged

Mando was successful and well received because it had creative writing and character development.

Kenobi was poorly received because it was poorly written, had plot holes large enough to fly the Death Star through and zero character development.

  9. Danger

Let’s face it Vader IS Star Wars. At least until they can come up with a cooler character. They haven’t so far…

  10. Bob bob

Obi-Wan was full of poor dialogue and acting: only fanboys able to ignore quality think it’s great. It was ended well, though, and finished in a way that ObiWan should NOT return: there is no reason to pull him out of hiding, only to make up stories of things that never happened.

The viewer numbers are TERRIBLE on all three! 1.5 million?! That demonstrates a complete lack of interest from the general public. Most young people – kids and teens I know now have no knowledge nor care for Star Wars. These shows are being made for us older fans. However, a fan I may be, the reality of dredging up old storylines is getting worse with each show put out. The Mandalorian is the better simply because it is different.

    1. Atlas Shrugged

I hate to say it, but Mando was good simply because it wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t truly Star Wars, instead, it was simply a space cowboy movie which was done up to look like Star Wars – it could have just as easily been a sequel to Firefly with only moderate changes.

Mando was also given to us after the third trilogy and that horrific Solo movie, so compared to those four movies, it was easy for it to be thought of as being awesome due to them having set the bar so low.

But you are correct – with D+ US subscriptions being around 38 million, none of these shows are clearing 5% viewers.

  11. Atlas Shrugged

Kenobi’s first episode had 2.14 million households watching it over four days while the finale had just 1.8 million households watching it over five days.

Since we don’t know how many of that 1.8 million watched it on the fifth day, we’ll just ignore that bonus day and note that the show LOST 16% of its audience over just six episodes.

With D+ having a US subscription rate of 38 million households, we’re only talking 5% of viewers watching the show.

Sorry, but that’s a failure, not a success.

  12. Chris

I have no time for the ungrateful fans bashing the Kenobi series, yes at times the story was a little weak but one only has to look over to another franchise at Picard to waste a perfectly good comeback. Despite the weaker parts Kenobi was intense and satisfying, the last two episodes in particular. However, it is because of that I don’t think a season 2 should happen. The story bridged the gap between Episodes 3 and 4, and it would make no sense to squeeze any more out of it unless it was not a season 2 of Kenobi but a continuation of Vader, Reva and others that took place before A New Hope. But seeing as Vader will be in the Ahsoka series, I’m not desperate for that either. And no disrespect to the actress as she did well with what was written for her but I don’t think Reva was a strong enough character to warrant a rumoured series of her own.

  13. joey

people tuned in to watch vader. not the actors. just vader. the story itself was about obi-wan being schooled by a little princess leia while Revan mindlessly went about trying to kill kids just so she could have a “redemption” moment. fortunately, there isnt much woke that fits into vader’s persona. hence the high ratings.

  14. Lnghairedfreek

I can’t believe no one has mentioned the biggest plot hole of all which was that in “A New Hope” Princes Leia had no clue who Obi Wan was other than he had “served her father during the clone wars.” That fact alone kills the entire premis of the show. It would have been a better idea to take one of Feloni’s ideas from the Clone Wars animated show and have him kill Maul again.

  15. Ganesh Iyer

With comments like this, you supposed “Star Wars fans” are pathetic. You demand Star Wars. When they pull together the resources and the actors from the movies to reprise their rolls, you “crap” all over it. At this point, it is a miracle that anyone in Hollywood would want to make new Star Wars content for thankless cretins like you.

  16. Bryan

Yes, it absolutely should get more seasons. I thought it was great to watch. It’s been way too long of a wait for Star Wars fans for this and other
    Star Wars movies.

  17. Bill

It was ok but I did like the Mandelorion better 🤔
