The 340 lb 14 year old had not been allowed to ride 2 other rides because of his size. As usual we don’t ask where his parents were? Shouldn’t they have the ones to decide whether he should have ridden the ride? He was only 14! How about a lawsuit for child endangerment charged to the parents? Makes perfect sense to me!

    1. Keisha

      1. The kid was not 340 pounds
      2. It’s the ride operators job to decide wether or not someone is allowed to go on, it’s been this way for the longest time the child endangerment against the parents makes no sense because they did not operate the rides.

      1. Michaele

He was 340 lbs and over 6 ft.

      2. Michael Park

Yes he was 340 pounds. He looked like fat albert. He even said Hey Hey Hey as he fell.

    2. A Wolf

He was on vacation with a friend and their family. His parents had to get the news via phone call.

    3. H. Kat

Oh, if only a single part of this were accurate!

      1. Walker

        H. Kat, let me break John’s post down for you:
1st sentence: 3 facts, all TRUE.
        2nd sentence: Asks a question.
        3rd sentence: Asks a question.
4th sentence: 1 fact, also TRUE.
        5th sentence: Asks a question.
6th sentence: Makes a statement about himself, which must be true.

So his post is all true, while your post is the one that has absolutely no truth to it.

This makes absolutely no sense. It’s the ride operators responsibility to decide whether someone can ride. A parent wouldnt know ride safety and regulations. ADULTS get told all the time that they can’t ride something, we don’t know until they tell us

      1. Tamara

        I agree!

    5. A

How about you get off social media John! Have a nice day.

    6. K Field

      Absolutely!!!

      1. K Field

SORRY JOHN!!! I responded, “Absolutely” because I am AGREEING WITH YOU!!! My response was just placed incorrectly.

    7. Tiara

Actually he was at football camp with his teammates and chaperones. His dad found out by seeing the video on Facebook. It was the ride operator’s fault because he should not have been allowed on.

  2. Traci

It is the responsibility of the person maintaining the ride they are operating to determine weather or not it is safe for each individual to ride. As a parent myself I wouldn’t have thought twice on weather or not it would be safe. Have you Google this kid Yes? He was a football player and looked every bit capable to be on this ride. And one more thing… YES! He weighed 340 lbs and stood over 6ft tall.

  3. Ashtiiii

It’s entirely the fat kids fault, maybe also the parents… Charge them with child neglect for letting the thing get that big to begin with 👌

    1. Felix

You ugly witch it’s people like you who don’t belong to be here. Take a look in the mirror and go fix yourself

    2. Joe

What really happened and nobody had checked for was gremlins. They were taking bolts out and making unsafe to ride. I guess you could track down the lead gremlin and sue him. But then have to be careful to not upset gremlin activists

    3. Ashtiii, what a horrible thing to say! I cannot figure out why you refer to a person ( child or adult) as a thing! I usually do not comment on something vile that someone else wrote. By calling a human being a ” thing” shows me personally that you are either very immature or, are trying to get a rise out of someone. That was plain old CRUEL! Have a nice day everyone.

      1. Sd

I’m sorry but just get off the internet cuz there’s millions like ashtii and there all weird and I just take a break from the internet have a good day

Doesn’t make what she said okay. Turning a blind eye to spiteful people like that is part of the issue. If we had less hateful people like her and more kind empathetic people that stand up for others instead of being passive or cowardly the world would be better off. All of these accidents are tragic. The pain being felt by the family is very real and I feel for them all.
The operators are trained on what to do what not to do. They should’ve known better. I can’t imagine how difficult that phone call to the parents would’ve been. 😪

    4. Michael myers

      Lmao 😁😁😁 you funny

  4. A Mom

He was 14yrs old and DIED. Talking that was about him is small and petty. I bet he got plenty of bullying from kids his age. Coming from an adult, comments like that are very small and petty. Grow up, for Goddess sake!!!

  5. Beano

They should only allow one raft at a time and then wait for them to get past halfway then allow another

    1. Beano

Also safety check everyday before opening past that it’s all a risk to anyone not their fault if they followed guidelines ,sad I hope they are all ok

  6. Beano

16 ppl is too many at once they have to follow the rules set by the ride maker if they did that it’s just a sad tragedy.Hope to see them all recover fast.hopw you guys are ok

  7. Shouldn’t a ride that size and 30 ft in the air be built to withstand a ton of weight plus water weight plus g-forces plus impact pressure of a moving load? Do we now defend incompetant construction because a kid ate one too many lollipops? Do we blame an apt collapse in Florida on too much furniture? Cutting corners on construction costs is always to blame and incompetant, negligent manage- ment, not children. Did any survive?

    1. Ana

      This right here….. completely agree.

This situation isn’t the same as a kid shooting with a gun here and their parents supporting the gun use…

Common sense is everything Angela said.

It’s just too unfortunate that a good chunk of people don’t understand this…
