Isn’t it interesting how we’re still not back to full capacity at the parks, but the lines are the longest ever. Hello, it’s Genie Plus and Lightning Lane – creating a false demand, along with the bogus reservation system. Per Chapek, the latter is to help schedule the right number of staff, yet the park is short staffed. It’s all bogus. Chapek is the evil wizard behind the curtain, price gouging us, and killing any and all magic that was left in the park. I look forward to returning to WDW after Chapek is forced to resign. Put Josh in as CEO, he has a heart.

You write about these rude shutdowns like it was unusual. We were in all parks May 15-20 and ALL had MULTIPLE lengthy shutdowns. In the past, “technical delays” were infrequent & brief…& understandable. There is NO EXCUSE for what is occurring now (i CHALLENGE anyone to give me a valid reason why lengthy ride closures are ok). It’s wrong; it destroys the value (getting what you paid for) ; it destroys the magic.

Disney’s engineers come up with some of the most elaborate ideas for rides and by doing so sacrifice “reliability.” I think Walt would be embarrassed by the lack of thought being put into these innovations. Resistance is a great ride when it is working. But all these breakdowns show a need for change.

  4. 100 minutes is right over a hour and a half. Why complain?? Go back later or the next day.

“Come back later or next day”, are you kidding? That might be OK for FL passholders or other VERY frequent visitors, but most guests actually have a plan that can flex only a little. And they’ve spent thousands in prep for actually experiencing what WDW advertises! Going BACK for an important attraction usually means missing some other favorites… and that’s just not right. (If your new car broke down as much as some of the rides these days, you would call it a lemon & DEMAND that it be fixed once & for all. )

One of the things that Disney needs to do is do away with the park hopping time restrictions. I mean why wait until 2 in the afternoon to allow park hopping when it used to be available at any and all times

You know when the fast passes were free and you pre-plan them, people could choose what time of day to go. We would usually plan for late afternoon and evening so we could enjoy the pool at the resort. With Genie+, it kinda forces EVERYONE into being there first thing in the morning in order to be able to use it….so the crowds aren’t really dispersed throughout the day. Could be part of the problem because it is VERY crowded. Chapek definitely needs to go…not sure D’Amaro is the answer either.
