If you take the Backstage To Magic tour at WDW you see a lot of this, including on most days the fire works launching stations (which are far away from the park) and topiary green houses. It’s a great tour. Not a lot of photo ops though, but still great.
Once they took us to the costume shop where everyone did exercising at their stations, and the laundry area where they talked about wanting a machine that could fold fitted sheets.
This path is actually not considered backstage as cast, tourists and locals living nearby often use this when I-4 or the 429 get backed-up. There is not a restriction to taking this route nor is there any signage stating “Company Vehicles Ony” or “Castmembers only”! And soon when the construction on the “Floridian Way” bypass is complete it will be used even more!

I worked at Disney and have seen the inter workings of the backstage area! It is a city in a city. Laundry, dry cleaning, cafeteria, bank….
