It means the lawsuit has them extremely worried despite what they try to claim and they want to minimize the damage when the judge likely rules against them. And Disney could have easily avoided this by simply having a single bucket of reservations instead of giving priority to non pass holders.

    1. A single bucket only advantages locals and pass holders who spend significantly less per trip.

Disney wants a destination park, not a being a glorified California mall with rides.

  2. It’s obvious this is also a retooling of the price, even for an enchant key, it only takes 4 days to get more than your money’s worth.

I imagine there is a data manager who is noticing that their imagine and enchant key users are visiting the parks way more than their internal models. This in turn is clogging up the parks and making it harder for the ones with the top passes and the profitable single day people.

Cancel all passes, and remove Genie+.

There, I made Disneyland and DCA 1000x better.

If they want to be a destination park for only those who spend more per day–then stop selling passes. Keep the numbers way down so it feels special. And if you think they will ever do this, you’re crazy. The want every dime they can get–from locals and non locals. They want the parks busy and all the money from people who come into town once a year and spend more per visit, and the pass holders who come all the time (particularly a Disneyland) and spend a lot per year on food and merch. The last 15 years have demonstrated how little they care for overcrowding–which they’re using to get money through Genie+. No overcrowding–no need for Genie +.

I think you just wish they only wanted to be a destination park–not sure how you came to that conclusion, but it wasn’t watching what they actually do. It doesn’t support that idea.
