It’s not the FIRST movie in Hollywood history to sneak in without a scene-specific trailer or review/marketing clips, but those that have…

And even leaving aside the idea of an even less disciplined Taiki directing a movie that exists for no other MCU reason than to groom Lady Thor for a future A-Force movie, that’s not good.

Something about the tweet he had posted makes me think they are holding up fingers to give a certain date. My guess is April 11th 2022.

I’m totally fine not seeing a trailer, in fact I can not see the whole movie at this rate.

    1. I read the whole thing in comic book guy’s voice. Anybody that is worried about this has bigger things to worry about.

“Every Marvel fan”? “Praying”? About a trailer?

This is a weird article. Does anybody really invest that much time and energy worrying about a *trailer*?

      1. Common sense

        Lol right?

“but every Marvel fan is losing faith”

        Waaaaaaaah

All these clowns whining about a trailer are hilarious. Oh my god! We don’t get to see 90 seconds of the movie three months out! It’s ruined! If everyone whining about it skipped the movie entirely they’d probably miss out on about $1000 at the box office. Stay home. Absolutely no one would care. You’re the worst fans there are with your juvenile, entitled attitude. Don’t go see it. Stop whining. Problem solved.

First of all the article is using people complaining on twitter as the basis for the entire premise and speaking as if that represents society in any way lol. When most people know and consider twitter mostly a cesspool of negative comments, like did the author just discover twitter for the first time?

      3. KG

I was thinking the same thing! Not “every” fan is losing faith???!!!? It’s a movie…..that’s all…not like it’s a cure for cancer. These writers need to tone it down a little.

Unless you’ve already purchased advance tickets for TLAT (are they really on sale this early?) what is your actual investment in the film going into theaters on schedule? Maybe it needs more work. Maybe it hasn’t turned out that great (not a first for a Marvel Thor film) and they’ve decided to dial down the hype. Keep in mind that Mr. Waititi was a successful art house filmmaker in New Zealand long before he signed on to serve the ultra demanding Marvel fan base in Hollywood. Maybe he’s discovered that working under this kind of pressure is really not his thing.

Love and Thunder is one movie. You use “is” after it, not “are”.

Thank you so much for also noticing this and saying something. I give an article no credit if they can’t even figure out the grammar aspect of writing first.

      1. Jim Ash

Yup. It is is, not are.

Aww, I missed days like this…
Where a movie not releasing a trailer was the definition of a “crisis”

The movie is admittedly ultra woke. Lots of gay scenes. Disney might be rethinking their PR considering the backlash they are taking in support of child grooming.

I’m sure the rights’ boycott of Disney will be impactful just as much when they protested netflix for releasing the film cuties, oh wait they didnt lol. The same ppl came back and defended netflix over their decision to not cancel Dave chappel comedy show over his alleged transphobic remarks lol

      1. todd

As impactful as their boycotts of Budweiser, Levi’s, Nike, Yeti, Harley, a bunch of rental car companies, Carhartt and so on. Which is to say, not impactful whatsoever.

    2. todd

Lol at equating “gay scenes” to grooming (a word you guys just learned). The right is getting more gullible but the minute

I homestly think Marvel have passed their peak and are now at the start of a downward spiral. Sure they will still make a ton of money but i think they hit their peak with Infinity war, i dont think Endgame was as good although it was still pretty decent. Thats just my opinion though

      1. Ranger

They don’t need to though, not every movie has to compete for the #1 all time movie. They just need to make money and they will. Plus no offense but claiming that their peak was when they had the #1 movie of all time is not exactly rocket science lol & of course it’s downhill from there, there’s only one direction

  8. “DEFCON 1…Marvel fans have had it.” Lol. Puleeeease. Who cares. Everyone will see this movie six times in the theater without a trailer! It’s better to not have one. There’s either always stuff that’s not even in the movie or they ruin everything! Go read a Thor comic book!

Children are being killed by bombs in the Ukraine, inflation is at its highest level in over 20 years (and rising), there are 2 more COVID variants on the loose in the United Kingdom and this lack of a trailer is a problem? I believe we are at the lowest point that I have ever seen in our culture.

    1. Buster105e

If you are still worried about the “China Flu” then you really have no hope

  10. Lord LaughyPants

I don’t care. I don’t need a trailer because I’m gonna see it first possible showing I can. I’ll even try to avoid it until Doctor Strange 2 because you know it’s gonna be on there.

Honestly I need to see a trailer for me to make any decision on going to see it. They’re bringing in female Thor which honestly was a huge disappointment when it came to storytelling. Instead of focusing on a character who was suffering from cancer and then could become a god and fight super villains and other gods but was concerned that their own body would betray them. They focused women good men. Bad. Just really wasn’t a great idea. They’re bringing that terrible idea to the screen. I hope that it’s good, but thus far the majority of the shows and movies based upon the 2016 Marvel lineup has been really bad. Wanda vision was okay until the end ruined it because they were trying to off after what she did. Falcon in the winter soldier was just miserable to sit through until the last two or three episodes and then it became fun. I think this was just more due to the actor. Just not wanting to be there. Loki was just a disaster and what if was a complete utter disappointment. Wish that was something I was really looking forward to. Saying she was bad so it was black widow and so was the eternals. Thus far the only successful thing under face for belt in my eyes is Spider-Man. No way home. I think it’s very telling that Marvel has lost its touch and as far more concerned about saying a message and beating us over the head with messages then telling good stories with the kinds of characters that they are trying to stand up for with messages. Stop trying to give us a message about marginalized People. Tell great stories with marginalized people.

How great would it be if they never released a trailer? We get to go in completely blind. Now, that would be an experience. I remember being sorry I knew Hulk was in Ragnorok. He was the centerpiece of that first trailer. Imagine if you didn’t know that going in. What a great surprise when Hulk entersthe arena. And only Marvel is big enough to pull off something that crazy — to sell a movie with no trailers, just online word of mouth. .

  13. The stupidity that went into writing the title of this article…. wow. Fore this person immediately

  14. Phillip

I’m okay with it. Why get trailers and spoilers and know everything about the movie before it comes out? At that point, what’s the point of even going to see it

  15. Nick

Sounds like they’ve received plenty of publicity buzz from this already… People wanna act they aren’t gonna watch it now? We’re still waiting for Doctor Strange to set the next act, chill out. You want spoiler sleuths combing over every pixel of detail before you even get to experience it?
