I wonder if the shutdown did more harm than good. Having the equipment idle that long could. It have been great.

This is just the latest example of cuts made in the Maintenance budget, Ultimately, the blame lands on the desk of CEO Bob “Paycheck”- who seems to value PROFITS over the satisfaction of Guests. HE MUST GO!!!

Happened to me twice. Once years ago on Splash Mountian at Disneyland. Got to walk a bit along the water in the show room then behind the scenes to get out.

Happened again on opening day for Rise of the Resistance at Hollywood Studios. It was a rough opening day for that ride.

I was there on Friday when the ride broke down and also got evacuated. After leaving the ride, they gave me and my friends fast passes. We were stuck for about 45 minutes.

ANOTHER hit job by Florida governor Ron DeSantis! He’s doing all he can to trash Disney after they criticized his gay policy.

The bill has nothing to do with being gay. Teachers can’t teach about switching from male to female. To grade school kids. People like you have blown this out of hand.

    2. Drew

Wow Mark that’s quite a leap of logic! First it’s the parental rights bill, it doesn’t mention “gay” anywhere in it and it’s supported by a large majority of Republicans and democrats. Secondly DeSantis doesn’t have any say on Disney’s maintenance budget. The only hit job here is yours.

DeSantis hates gay people and has even called the gay lifestyle
” disgusting” and ” disturbing”. He has stated that the sight of two gay men kissing is “upsetting” and you defend this governor and his anti-Disney hate speech? I’m sorry you HATE GAYS too but don’t bully us please!

You are the one who is doing the bullying. DeSantis got nothing to do with a ride breaking down because of poor maintenance.

Another liberal trying to bait people into reacting to something this story has nothing to do with. You gonna throw that out there and then be the hurt victim when you get that reaction? Come on man, your choice to be gay and support your community has nothing to do with this article. Almost every single business is struggling to find good help, and Disney is no different. The younger generation is not interested in learning trade skills, such as Maintenance Technicians, which is what Disney, or any other kind of industry, needs to keep all the equipment in good working order. Every single attraction needs routine preventive maintenance. When does all that happen? At night, after the parks close, so that all your favorite rides run during the day. How many people actually want to work at night all the time? Not many. But, that’s part of Disney’s magic, maintenance getting $hi+ done at night while you’re sleeping so you can have fun during the day. Next time you’re at the park and see a maintenance guy you should thank him for what he does to keep your experience enjoyable. Especially since they are obviously short on help they are working harder and longer hours for you. People like you make me sick, always finding ways to pull your agenda into every conversation just to make drama about your own lifestyles, like no one else’s lifestyles matter. You want inclusion and diversity? Stop throwing how you choose to live up in everyone else’s faces all the time and you’d be more likely to be accepted.

I was on the spaceship Earth ride in Feb of this year and the entire trip thru the exhibit sounded like the conveyor was struggling. Can’t imagine how much maintenance this type of continually used equipment must need. Plus a lot of the breakdowns probably need more than just a squirt of oil from a can.

Disney Parks are beginning to look like Glove World from the Spongebob episode Glove World RIP.

  9. Leigh Wilson

    Disney’s latest attraction, dumpster fire.

Disney had 2 years during the covid close down To do major maintenance and renovations. But they opted not to. Their guests get to pay the price. Which more and more seems to be too high. As a former passholder for many years, Count me out for going back.

Oh, since they are so woke now, no more princesses. That’s got to hurt the bottom line in merchandising.

What’s next? Mickey transgendering into a Minie? That’s the road they’re hell bent on traveling down on.
