Was this just the franchisees and upper management levels. Or did McDonald’s fly out hundreds of cashiers, cooks, etc.?

    1. L. Jen

Oh you know it wasn’t the people in the actual McDonald’s getting screeched at daily. It was just the big salary people in an office somewhere

      1. B. K. F.

        Disney sucks! Don’t go there.

        1. Coco

          Ohhhh shut up qween!

        2. Kevin

Only the fruitcakes go there for map

        3. Scott

I was there that day as a guest and I paid full price ticket but had to leave early so that Disney could give McDs a private event at a discount. I paid for McDonalds to do this. Where’s my spo sorship appreciation?!?

    2. Corey

All levels from all over the world. Franchises come and meet with suppliers and bring staff with them. From upper management to the grill guy. It is a great experience. I was there from Canada.

      1. What was the great experience McDonald’s is the worst in the United States in terms of food A dirty flirt Artificial meat lasts up to a week One meat All the food is fake Only the Vanilla Cone is very good The wages are the lowest in the entire United States lose

      2. Scott

Disney screwed over the regular guest. They never I formed me that our day would be cut short and I paid full price and my family had to leave 4 hours early so McDonald’s could get their private experience. Disney made all their guests that day pay for McDs experience. You’re welcome McDonalds! We paid the price for you and Disney screwed the regular patrons!

    3. Jim

Happy to see McDonalds treat their franchise owners so well. I have to say, however, for those of us who spent thousands of dollars on transportation, accommodations, and Disney tickets on our family trip only to get kicked out of Hollywood studios early, was a massive bummer for us. Disney offered no partial refund and refused to let us into another park as an alternative. This was our family’s first trip to Disney and our 6 & 8 year old kids definitely “felt the magic” of getting kicked out of a park with virtually no notice. Very poor experience and very poor taste for Disney and MacDonalds. I assume that’s why the staff was so secretive as to why they were ushering everyone out of the park. The only information given to guests being ushered out was, “there’s a park-wide private event tonight, you have to leave”. (Thanks for your money though, your kids tears are complimentary).

      1. Kay

I totally agree with you. It’s reprehensible that Disney is so secretive and suddenly and unexpectedly forces paying guests with tickets to leave is outrageous! Guests affected should have been, at the very least, given vouchers or gift cards. It’s shocking how little regard Disney has for its guests these days, but as long as people keep coming back, Disney will continue to cut back on services and raise prices because all it cares about is the profit.

      2. Scott

Amen!! I was there that day and Disney never notified us that our day was being cut short until we found out 2 weeks before the day.

    4. Teresa

The crew who served behind the counters at this convention experienced all the perks and benefits for free. However they earned their way there with dedication, passion and hard work in their everyday life at Mcds. . Anyone who works at McDs has the same opportunities. With hard work advancement is easy which then brings opportunities such as this. Somewhere along the road these thoughts that opportunities like this are owed and not earned came about. Let’s get back to instilling hard work.

    5. Paul

It included everyone at the convention. Including all the best workers around the world!

  2. Carol

My dad worked for a large aerospace firm in Anaheim, CA. His company used to reserve Disneyland for an evening in December for many, many years for a private “party” for it’s employees and families. We looked forward to it every year as we got to ride all the rides we wanted with no lines.

  3. Many companies buy a Disney park for a group event. This really isn’t news. We have missed a few nights while being WDW. You just go to a different park that night.
@B.K.F. if you don’t like Disney WHY ARE YOU READING STORYS ABOUT THEM?

    1. The truth

Because he’s trying to start a culture war, that’s why.

      1. Jay

The Truth, you sound so stupid.

    2. EMM

It’s not that simple if you had park reservations and you’re a vacationer.

      1. Jim

Exactly. That’s what happened to us. We had to reserve our park well in advance, before knowing the park was closing early. Once we found out we asked Disney if we could change parks and they said no. So we asked for a partial refund and they said no and pointed us to the “fine print” stating Disney reserves the rights to do whatever they want with park hours, no notice or refunds requires.

        1. Scott

Same exact thing happened to us!

    3. but your Leslie you can speak whatever you want nobody prevents you if other people are bothered by that thing about groups that buy tickets for the December parties who doesn’t know that everyone can do it you don’t have to work on the moon much less aerospace all can

  4. Scott

Were guests aware of this because if I paid and made ressies and a day of my trip was ruined, ye gads, hell hath no fury like a husband losing money.

    1. Stacey

Guest were not aware of this. And we were thrown out of the park with no warning.

      1. Will Smith

They had disney characters slapping guests on their way out.

        1. 😜😜😜😜😜🤣🤣🤣

      2. Joem

That’s not what happened. If you didn’t know you weren’t paying attention to the closing time when you reserved the park.

        1. Leo

False closing time was not 5pm when we reserved the park. It changed without notice in February.

      3. They should not go to that park, the employees are mistreated and also poorly paid, that is why it is a fantasy place, do not support those places where the rights of employees and visitors are not respected, they only care about money

    2. Komeh Bola

Ahh noooo waaay maaaan. Even WITH Resiieeesss? Noooo Waaayyyy

    3. Melissa Sheffield

Disney already charges WAY TO MUCH! Why would we want to go ? You have destroyed everything that Walt accomplished! This was not meant to be a way to line your pockets! It was to be a Family park …..NOW you need to ROB a bank before you can afford to take your family let alone yourself! Walt is rolling in his grave SHAME ON YOU !!!

      1. that’s true super expensive for me it’s boring I prefer Knott’s Berry Universal Studios Hollywood SeaWorld

      2. Jay

        hear, hear!

  5. Paulyz

The new “woke” Disney lost Family Orientation and Values. Not going there again.

    1. 001

Ohhh shut up you miserable old man! Go actually be helpful in something instead of becoming an old mean Karen!

      1. how old are you people can say what they want what happens to you you should go to some

        Online Anger Management Class
        Starting at only $25

      2. Disney is a pathetic waste of time. And don’t call me mister, mrs , miss, man , boy, girl , woman , male , female ,them, they I guess hey you is ok Disney is a wasteland of moronic minds

      3. Jay

001, way to judge much? Smdh

    2. Ha ha ha ha

      Trump lost.
I just thought you should know.

      1. J

Yeah, you thinks it’s funny that the wool was pulled over your eyes during a fraudulent election. Even when the truth is out, you’ll still be in your little naive mind. How about the “Russian Collusion”, Hunter’s laptop, and BLM donations being squandered away by grifters that learned from the best in the business such a Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson. Information is pouring out. The masses have awoken and this giant isn’t going back to bed.

      2. Jay

Ha ha ha ha is nothing but a troll, move along people.

    3. Leanne

Good all you crazy stay away I hate waiting in line with you.

      1. J

The audio from Martin Luther King Jr sitting in and watching/giving tips during a violent rape will be unsealed January 31st, 2027. Please feel free to look it up. We have already read the transcripts. This is gonna make “Grabem’ by the [lady parts] look like child’s play.

      2. Sansa

Awe… “J” is so confident in their unrealistic deplorable comment they decided to not put a pic or a full name! Hey J the only fraudulent activity was that fraud of a man who played president for 4 miserable years pretending he was actually running something! Even his very own Supreme Court posse he hand picked and every election official told him there was no fraud. There has never been one shred of evidence presented at any of the 63+ lawsuits that simpleton and his team of imbecilic clowns filed post election. Oh and every single case he lost by the way. If the entire world is telling you that you are a loser, then you are a loser! Just like the emperor with no clothes. He wasn’t fooling anyone!! 70+ million people told him he was FIRED. Good riddens!
Oh and I agree that Disney only caters to those who either have more money than they know what to do with or those who have to save all year just to spend hours standing in line for a 5 minute ride. The magic left that park many years ago!! A day at Disney has become unattainable for everyone in the first 2 tax brackets! That’s sad!

        1. Disney is a pathetic waste of time. And don’t call me mister, mrs , miss, man , boy, girl , woman , male , female ,them, they I guess hey you is ok Disney is a wasteland of moronic minds lol

        2. fge00

As for Disney I agree. As for the Trump part, they actually believe what they are saying. They want to follow someone who is as smart as they are. Let them be, they’re easier to spot that way.

        3. Jay

Lol Sansa, just wow…please get a hobby.

    4. Joem

Paulyz, nobody cares what you do. Why troll this site if you don’t plan on going to Disney?

  6. Jay

Sorry but this is nothing new. Even years ago companies like Washington Mutual, Bank of America and Ralphs had events like this. It was common. Problem is companies got greedy and kept the money for themselves. I wemt to an event like this over 15 years ago; rode everything and got to to invite friends. Instead of treating this like a new trend lets focus on why more comapnies do NOT do this for employees.

    1. J

Because people want more pay. Can’t have your cake and eat it too.

  7. Corey

All levels from all over the world

    1. Daniel

It was not all levels, this event was ONLY for the upper management and their families, not the people that actually work in the restaurants. No crew or lower management wasn’t at that event. I currently work for a franchise in orlando. It’s sad that the ones who work with no help don’t get the benefits but the ones that don’t do anything is getting the benefit!

      1. J

They have all gotten pay increases. You can’t have your cake and eat it too. You want better perks, get a better job, loser.

      2. Teresa

I’m not sure what position you are in but are you able to request to be promoted? Try to learn more about what a supervisor’s job entails? For the most part many of the “big wigs” started small too and earned their way to this convention through years and years of learning new things and willing to take more leadership roles. Not trying to be rude but somewhere we have lost the idea that things are owed to us instead of the idea of working for something. If Conventions like this are something you’d like to experience maybe let this be an encouragement to you. They do these every two years. Plenty of time to work hard to get there. Just a thought.

  8. Walt

They did NOT close down the park because they were there afterwards when it wad CLOSED.
Learn how to right correctly. And without having to trick someone into reading your crappy story!
All these useless bloggers and liberal losers behind their keyboards these days that don’t know anything but to push their woke agenda !
    Everything WOKE TURNS TO 💩

    1. J

The irony that you used the wrong spelling of ‘write’

      1. AH

Use to think that also before I had multiple writings get autocorrected by the system even after I made sure it was correct.

      2. mike

You started a sentence with the word “and” also!

    2. AB

No, the park was scheduled to close at 9pm and it closed early at 5pm for ticket holders for this event. So paying customers lost 4 hours of park time for this event to happen. People were very angry. There was very little advance notice and even Disney cast members in guest relations didn’t realize the early closure was happening. Luckily, we saw the closure on another blog post, and was able to switch our park reservations from HS to AK for the day to be able to make sure we were able to get everything we wanted to do at HS in during our one day there.

    3. Joem

I love that “Woke”ness is living in your head rent free. This article had nothing to do with wokeness or politics!

And it is write, not right…

  9. Don'tAtMe

    Shut up, Karen.

  10. Kevin

Another screwball freak going to disney in his warped woke mind … whats left of it

    1. Lj

Thanks for paying attention.. I’m utterly confused, one day may the confusion clear up, until then I can’t worry about some money and other things out of my control

  11. Laura Newcomer

I don’t know if they still do it but I was a cast member in the 90’s and the MK would close for the cast Christmas party. I seem to recall it was for 2 nights so everyone had a chance to go, with management running the park so hourly cast members and their families could also enjoy the party and access to the parks. It was a total blast! Those were the days.

  12. Kory

We used to do that years ago as kids, it was called “Aerospace night” it was at Disneyland and there was one at Knott’s Berry Farm as well.

It’s a shame Disney has become Walt Pedoland and has been taken over radical Marxists who hate this country and it’s judeo-christian family values.

    1. Carol

Over 50 years ago, I worked at the Bank of A Levy in Ventura, CA. They rented out Disneyland for a day for all of their employees. I was 19 years old. It was a blast!

  13. Dave

I was at a McDonalds convention at WDW years AGO. They closed the magic Kingdom down for us that time. Btw… we’re also done witb Disney. For what they charge we can go the actual places Disney tries to imitate!

  14. DLand

How fun. I use to work for DISNEYS SPECIAL EVENTS teams in Anaheim California. So while you were all having a Great time in the parks, I was on the Other end of your Magical evening. I had a Great time being apart of that & I hope to any of you reading this that have been able to go to one of those event, I hope you had a great time 🥳🎉🥳🎉🥳🎉

  15. NayNay54329

They do a park every year when they hold their convention at the OCCC. Old news.

  16. M.E. Nichols

It’s a Shame they don’t Value Our Children!!!😢Im done with Both of You😩

  17. HonestyandRealityGuy

I had a similar experience with the “Buick Sramble” finals many years ago. The park to ourselves. Outstanding.

No longer a McDonald’s fan. My spouse, their former employee of the year, never got her final paycheck after 38 YEARS with the company (not a franchise). Think about that.

  18. Wars kill kids

    Rich people problems.🙄

  19. Me

Nope, this was franchise owners only.
They were nasty and messy too. I work for an event company that supplied many of the items used during this event.
They didn’t stay on schedule and complained constantly about something.
“My chair is too high” “I’m not cleaning this up. There’s people for that”
Broken chairs, tables, torn furniture, food on everything. I’d swear there was a good fight.
No they did but eat McDonald’s food. This was high end fix despite the cute Mickey pretzel.
These are horrible, ungrateful, nasty people.

  20. Lola

We were on a one week family vacay at Disneyworld (that my husband and I funded – 9 of us in total) from Canada. A once in a lifetime opportunity. Hollywood Studios was our reserved park for the day.
We were shocked that the park closed at 5 pm for a special event without any prior warning. After spending all that money on an ultimate experience, to have 5 hours shaved of it was less than “magical”.
I am happy for the folks at McDonalds that they were treated royally for their dedication and work ethic. A pretty nice perk. But what about the rest of us?
