This all doesn’t make sense. Why wouldn’t the folks in the lightning lane move over?

Well, everyone who buys this ripoff assumes they’ll be able to get on the rides quicker. And no one wants to do standby anymore, since the cast members let 10 lightning lane guests in for every 1 standby. Looks like things are playing out exactly like the greedy execs want them to.

This was not the situation when we went a week ago. The pass came in handy and got us through lines in 15 min when the standby wait time was 75 min🤷🏻‍♀️

Happily paid to use the Genie. And if people stand in a long line when they see there is no other line, well that’s on them… or the pictures aren’t from the exact same time

We went to Disneyland in mid-March 2022 and purchased lightening lane. What a rip-off. There was at least a three hour wait to the reserved time when the ride only had an hour stand-by wait. The lightening lane for Space Mountain for us was the same as the article above. We probably waited 45 mins once we got in line after having a 3+ hour wait for our entry time. I will never go to Disney again.

This is deceiving. We went last week and many times the lightening lane was semi backed up while the stand by line looked clear, except lightning lane ushers you more than half way past the line and many Disneyland rides do not have their stand by lines start till a spot not seen from the front. Lighting lane was completely worth it as we didn’t wait more than 20 min for a ride.

I do agree it sucks you have to wait a few hours between to book. If you go early and buy genie + early the book times are not so long. In the morning you can easily book 4 rides between 8 and noon or so. Then the wait becomes longer but for 20 bucks it’s worth it. Better than waiting 1.5 hours for every ride.

We just spent 3 days in Disneyland. 1st day in Disneyland, 2nd in California Park. 3rd in Disneyland. We purchased the lightning pass. After a short learning curve on times and how to redeem your spot we found it useful. We were not happy about paying extra, but waiting in long lines with a 6yr old and a 9yr old is no fun either. One the last day we were able to all the rides on our list, and everyone was happy. I was not happy with having to constantly look at my phone to see what we are doing next, instead of enjoying the park. Then there is mobile ordering. The time slots are no good. We waited an hour an half to get food at The Hungry Bear in Disneyland. It was stupid crazy. Then seating is a major problem. I would recommend to bring your food, or eat in downtown Disney if you can. We are not in a hurry to plan our next Disneyland trip, we felt Disney had lost some noticeable sparkle.
