I’m still trying to figure this out. Gina Carano is possibly one of the finest examples of women who are self empowered, successful and exceptionally strong, in both character and physical substance.

What did she do to get treated like an untouchable?

As to Ezra, he’s got some issues and needs some help but not as bad as many in Hollywood. At least he didn’t swear a bunch on live TV and physically assault a black man on stage in front of millions.

She comes off as a conservative. For some people that’s all that’s needed to take everything they say and interpret it in the worst possible light. They were looking for things to try and nail her, and when they look they’ll find the evidence whether it’s there or not.

If she floats she’s a witch, if she drowns she’s innocent.

      1. sara

it’s not that she “comes off as a conservative” it’s that she legitimately said idiotic things on her social platform. people don’t just have it out for conservatives despite what you may think

        1. Traditionalist

If saying “idiotic things” was the reason she got fired, then nobody in Hollywood should have a job. Lastly, who is the arbitrator of what is “idiotic?”

          1. sara

aw dang it, my response got eaten in the upload. basically i said you’re right, people should be held accountable for their words and actions. but i also said when you say the things she said and firmly stood behind, then “common sense” is the arbitrator of what is “idiotic”.

        2. Chris

Pedro Pascal said things that were even worse but nothing happened to him. Either both should have been fired or neither should.

          1. sara

yeah he didn’t though. but nice try.

          2. Tony

Actually, he did though. But nice try.

          3. sara

his comparison of the cages to the camps was an accurate comparison. her comparison of getting backlash for her highly inaccurate comparisons of backlash for her harmful tweets to n*z* germany and then putting the blame of what happened on the j*w*sh people who were under n*z* threat. it’s not the same, it is an awful point of view to try to push on people via her position in society, she was flat out wrong.

      2. SomeOneSpecial

The ole copeout of “conservative”. Always the victim. Zero accountability for actions. Just the ole “well I used my free speech card to say a bunch of xenophobic, transphobic, anti-Semitic, racist comments and now you’re cancelling me?!?! What gives?!”

    2. sara

she said REALLY stupid things victor

      1. Chris

Not as stupid as what Pedro Pascal said.

        1. sara

actually no, but thanks for playing

          1. Tony

Actually, yeah. But thanks for trying.

          2. sara

tony i could do this all day. do you want to do this all day? i have all the time in the world.

    3. M

That’s what they don’t like, she’s more self-made, not a wind-up doll like the Kardashians. She didn’t say stupid things,

    4. SomeOneSpecial

I mean she was decently accomplished in the ring but in acting…?

She played a bunch of expendable side characters. Cara Dune was her first real example of any measurable acting success and she blew that for herself. Everything that’s happened to her, solely rests at her feet. She’s no victim so stop it. She decided to “keep it real” rather than keep a paycheck and that’s fine. But you get to live with that decision.

      1. Tony

        100%

This is what the left doesn’t seem to understand.

When they try to cancel us, we simply don’t let them. They try to take our livelihoods away, we rise above and find something better just to shove it in their faces.

The left thrives on cancel culture as a form of virtue signaling. And when we don’t let that crap get us down, they start whining like children.

Gina is the image of strength in womanhood, in principle, in character. Ezra is an idiot, has shown cruelty to fans and non-fans alike, and has displayed zero humility regarding his misgivings.

The comparison is ludicrous, disingenuous, and exemplifies the left-wing bias of the author.

        1. sara

“Cancel culture” is actually people holding others accountable for their words and actions. see first y’all were upset about “PC culture” because you couldn’t say slurs anymore without repercussions, so now that we’ve moved onto different accountability, this is your new buzz phrase to do your own whining.

  2. Jeromy

I have sympathy for Ezra. There are some suggestions that he might have gotten the “Hollywood treatment”, which would mess someone up. However, there’s a big difference between social media posts some people find controversial (I think those people were determined to misunderstand her posts, but whatever), and committing actual crimes.

I don’t think he should be permanently blacklisted, we have a legal system to deal with crimes, we shouldn’t be punishing people outside of that system, but he needs to get some help. A pause might allow him to get that help.

    1. Jack

Gina didn’t assault people like Ezra has allegedly done. She was always notated as being great on set…unlike Ezra.

I don’t see how these situations are anything alike. Gina did nothing wrong except express her views. Ezra has broken the law.

  3. Jim

Is he really getting the “Gina Carano treatment”? I mean, she got fired for an admittedly very cringeworthy difference of opinion and yeah probably should’ve thought it through before making it very very public…Ezra Miller keeps getting in trouble for assaulting and threatening people to the point he got himself arrested, those two things are really not the same, I feel a bit of sympathy for Ezra in a way, he definitely doesn’t seem particularly mentally well, seems to be a very erratic and volatile person, being in the public eye might not actually be good for him.

    1. Jo1

Not “cringe”at all, just facts. Therefore, she had to be cancelled. It wasn’t even pushing anything conservative, but facts are just a threat to people who live in fantasy bubbles.

God forbid a strong, independent woman exists who has a voice that isn’t looneytoon left, eh?

      1. WZ

        Agreed

      2. sara

yeah no, she did not post facts. this is not about misogyny.

        1. Tony

          😂😂🤣

You can’t say something isn’t a fact simply because it goes against your ideology.

Ideology is not fact, it is opinion.

          Gina stated FACTS.

  4. Disney Fans Privilege

The Gina Carano treatment is getting cancelled for your political beliefs not matching the studio’s. Ezra Miller is physically attacking people. There’s a huge difference, and if you don’t see that difference, I feel bad for you.

    1. M

      Yes indeed

    2. Matthew Robinson

disney contributes to the GoP, not sure how the political affiliations differ …

      1. Tony

        You’re funny.

  5. Wing

The difference here Is that Miller would have had it comin, Carano didn’t deserve what happened to her. This article is a trip,

  6. Brian

Yeah enough with Ezra Miller already. He’s a maniac and needs help. WB is so screwed up, he was video taped physically assaulting a woman in a store, violently, and they still kept him around. When does that happen??? Carano was persecuted for having different beliefs than the liberal d bags in Hollywood. Totally different situation. Look at what’s happening with Disney now. Everyone these days bows down to the vocal minority bc they do nothing but scream and yell that you have to think the same way as them or else. Figure it out

    1. Wing

And what they don’t seem to understand is that ” vocal minority ” doesn’t represent anybody else but themselves.

      1. Tony

I love finally seeing some conservative voices on a Disney site
Gives me hope the magic I grew up with hasn’t been completely tarnished and tainted. 🙏💚

  7. @nateonnetflix_1973

What do you mean Gina Carano treatment?.. what happened to Gina Carano was completely unfair just like what Warner Brothers did to Johnny Depp while Ezra Miller is a danger to other people and but w.b. didn’t do anything about it.

  8. Johnny Bans

I don’t see how this article can compare the two at all. Two very different situations. One person wrote tweets that people didn’t like and another person physically assaulted people. Is the author in the “words are violence” camp? It’s that or they simply didn’t think this article through.

    1. Tony

Lol, thank you for mentioning that phrase “words are violence.” I think you’re right.

BTW, left-wing readers, words are not violence. You being offended does not mean someone was violent towards you.

      Grow a backbone.

  9. Jeremy F

The fact that you are trying to compare what happened to Carano as to what happened to Ezra Miller is dishonest at best, and pathetic character assassination at worse. Miller has literally attacked people, and threatened their lives, while Carano made a twitter post. The fact that you are trying to cover for Miller because he claims to be gender neutral is pathetic.

  10. sara

lmao you’re calling it the gina carano treatment? holy hell. i do think gina carano said enough to be let go, but ezra miller has ACTIVELY ASSAULTED PEOPLE so OF COURSE he should be fired. jesus.

  11. NW

Ezra Miller definitely deserves to the pink slipped, screw gender pronouns screw gender neutrality screw that woke bs.Gina is better, she has a good head on her shoulders, but at this point expect the idiots at the WB to make the wrong choice just like the morons at Disney they always listened to the wrong people. And it ends up coming back to bite them like it is right now. Gina did not deserve to be fired Ezra does

  12. SomeOneSpecial

The 2 scenarios aren’t similar at all.

Gina earned her pink slip when she decided that her personal views were worth more than Disney’s profits and employee code of conduct. She was talked to several times about her online conduct and she basically gave the middle finger to Disney. So yea, normally when you become a disruptive employee you get fired.

Actually, nvm, Gina and Ezra do have something in common then. Difficult to work with. But honestly, Gina isn’t the first one to do it and Ezra won’t be the last. So I’m not sure the “Gina Carano Treatment” needs be a coined term for a bad employee in Hollywood.

  13. Julian H

Change the record, surely we are all done with this Cancel Culture Crap.

    1. sara

i love when people refer to holding others accountable for their words and actions “cancel culture”

      1. HT

Then when does it stop? When do you “stop holding people accountable” first Gina then Hartley Sawyer fromThe Flash when does it end?

        1. sara

LOL what do you mean when do you stop? you don’t. all people need to be held accountable for their words and actions so we can learn and grow as human beings. jesus.

  14. No

I’m sorry but how is choking and hitting fans comparable to some Twitter rage? This article is absurd.

  15. Doug

So bottom line is, And it will be unpopular, Ezra Miller has proven to be unstable and a danger to others. He has broken the law multiple times. He is an unnecessary risk to the production companies both reputation and insurance wise. Drop him.

  16. Lord LaughyPants

How are you comparing the two? Gina got fired for opinions and social media posts. Ezra has physically assaulted people apparently on multiple occasions.

The surprising thing is that Ezra wasn’t fired already before this latest incident.
