I’m not sure I agree that Disney is the only one that is excessively expensive. A couple of weeks ago I blew $2500 for me and a lady friend for 2 nights and 2 days at Universal.

Yes, Sea World, Legoland and Bush Gardens are less expensive and on many trips I actually do a couple of days of nature exploration and local Florida life (usually less expensive) but I can easily say that WDW gives me what I need when I’m there and I willingly pay for that feeling of safe, happy comfort and immersion in the bubble.

For those who are financially stressed, please explore every option and research every savings possibility. It’s almost like doing taxes. It’s a lot of work to figure out all of the angles and loopholes but they are there.

  2. Prices are astronomical compared to many other theme parks but the greatest costs are borne by our children. Disney has been intentionally and shamefully including corrupting influences in their movies to adulterate the minds of children for over a decade. For example, promoting witchcraft and homosexuality. Walt must be rolling over in his grave.

      Well, aren’t you special.

      1. Simone

Yeah. Wow. Love the hate in their boycotting message.

    2. Ugh

Deng, just shut the f* up already Karen, go be a screeching dramatic hyena somewhere where no one has to put up with your miserable kind.

      1. BS Detector

I do not agree with Deng comments but Ugh (or Ugly) crawl back into that nasty little A hole you came out of.

Your negativity and BS is beyond miserable. Sounds to me like you are the biggest Karen on here.

Witchcraft has been in Disney movies since Snow White was released in the 1930s! Hocus Pocus came out almost 30 years ago! Plus you have Sleeping Beauty, The Little Mermaid, Aladdin, Halloween Town, the list goes on and on. Please, for the love of God, turn off Fox News and go read a book or something.

    4. Elisha

Well now, we’ve just witness hate-filled, phobic, superstitious, right batwing, holly-rolling right here. If Jesus were alive today, he’d be ashamed of this ugly behavior. There is NO love in the hearts of these weak-minded, bobble-headed fear mongering, hate spreading, utterly manipulated, foolish political puppets. This is sad. “Idiocracy” is nigh. Glad you’re staying out of Disney. This is the only redeeming quality I can see about this ultra low level group from here.

    5. Dean

In other words, you are against equality. Thank you for admitting that issue.

    6. Emile

Yeah NO THEY HAVE NOT BEEN DOING THAT.

    7. Ubu

      Well somebody’s being ugly here.

    8. Steve

Well SOMEONE has been drinking the Kool-aid by the gallon. Leave your ridiculous, ignorant stupidity out of it. I should run to Disney now… With fools like you boycotting, it will truly be the HAPPIEST PLACE ON EARTH.

    9. D. Trump

@deng You are one big ahole. My message is approved by me

    10. Kim

Please name the movies that are promoting witchcraft and homosexuality? Btw, there are wiccans around, and plenty of homosexuals.

Ummm Walt made Snow White with a witch. Let me explain capitalism to you. You’re clearly a conservative snowflake. Disney is out to make money. The fact is progressive and liberal families tend to have more education and make more money. More children are non white than white. Younger adults tend to be progressive. These are all reasons why Disney is being culturally competent. In capitalism they get to make their own policy. If you want a country where the state runs the Christian church, hates gays, and sets policy that’s Russia. The Supreme Court said corporations are people too in the Citizen’s United case, meaning corporations can influence the government with money and donations. If you don’t love capitalism and America just say so, and leave. Walt was a capitalist who would love anything that made money. You clearly know nothing. Almost every feature he made had witchcraft or magic in it. Why you all think they should be a Christian entertainment organization is ridiculous. Go visit the absurd ark with dinosaurs in Kentucky or try to bring back Jim and Tammy Faye’s failed theme park Heritage. On a closing thought, did you know that married gay men with children make the most money and have the lowest divorce rate of ANY GROUP in the country? That’s right, we provide the most stable homes for our kids. Just wanted to mention that. You don’t see us complaining about Disney because we can afford it. So work harder so you can too.

I went with my parents to WDW, high school friends l on season tickets to WDW, Fort Wilderness camping, and Mickey’ Very Merry Christmas Parties. Over 40 years of visits and memories. We continued annual passes until Disney jumped the pass prices because of Star Wars. Last money we spent on Disney. The main thing one remembers today is how many ways Disney drains your pockets before sending you home broke.

After friends it should say after marriage we raised our kids

Wow. They are feeling the full weight of the pandemic” over Disney pricing and experience? They should count themselves lucky that they still have jobs and hopefully haven’t lost any loved ones.
I don’t understand the complaints, honestly. It cant be cheap to run those parks and resorts and clearly no one has tried going to universal.
I go to Disney a lot (we own @ DVC) and when I was trying to book universal last summer I was flabbergasted at how expensive it is. So I want to know which comparable parks are less expressive. And honestly those parks are absolute chaos and packed to the gills. We will go again at some point but I’ll stick with Disney.
I have told many first timers that now isn’t the time to go and for veterans now is the time to explore other things at the park. We have been twice since they reopened and while it is a different kind of trip, it’s been pretty great both times in a very different way than in has in past years.

Lol I go to Universal Orlando once a year for a week during Halloween Horror nights and it has always been quite cheaper than Disney and less crowded. Even this year, my sister wanted us to stay at Disney with her and her husband and and we opted to stay at Universal because it was close to 4,000 dollars cheaper. Not to mention Universal’s fast passes are 100x better. But to eaches own.

    2. Simone

This past Halloween Horror Nights at Universal (with day passes, fast passes and the HHN tickets and early entry) was ridiculously expensive. The whole reason we did it was because my husband loves HHN and we hadn’t been for years and finally we got some time off to go. We took a three day weekend and had fun, but although the hotel was nice and cheaper by far (it was on Universal Property), HHN is now officially not worth it to us anymore for a short weekend trip (we fly from PA and that is also an extra expense). We are going on Disney Cruises too, but for Alaska, we are taking Norwegian which is also less expensive then Disney and leaves from Seattle, not Vancouver, BC, Canada. We want to take a trip to Western Canada sometime as a separate trip, but not pay to fly out there and leave our country just to get on a ship. For the Caribbean though, as long as we can afford it, we are staying with Disney cruising as we love those ships and the service and the entertainment. Princess is the best cruise line for the price for Alaska all around I would think, Norwegian second as they have ships that have that special lounge for viewing while you are sailing. I think Disney’s ships aren’t as set up for Alaska and probably even the Norwegian fjords cruises (which I’d also like to do someday), due to the best viewing on a Disney ship would be either from your cabin if you have a Verandah or outside and the weather can be really crappy in the summer for outside viewing while on the ship. I think the Alaska and Norwegian cruises are more about the excursions and the viewing then other things that Disney DOES have to offer, so all of this is just my personal opinion when I cruise.

We just returned from Disney – we stayed at a resort and visited two parks. Yes it was expensive. But it was beautiful, CLEAN, safe, and the artistry they put into every inch… that’s part of the cost. As others have said you need to do your research and know what to avoid financially. We saved for a couple years before going and we plan to go again in another two years.

    1. Zach, PHD

The people complaining are cheap and just want free stuff. They are Karens. I’m glad they have had enough. Disney has gotten rid of the freebies to weed them out. I don’t mind it. It helps to build a better clientele if you ask me. If those things make or break your vacation then STAY HOME! You were probably going to run over someone’s foot with a stroller or scooter with a bad attitude anyways.

  7. Anna

I am so sick and tired of people saying how expensive a Disney vacation is. Yes is it more expensive than other options sure it is but that’s the same thing I think about when I travel. I would love to go to Bora-Bora and do a vacation there but it’s extremely expensive so guess what my budget doesn’t allow me to do that so I just find an alternative option for my entertainment dollar. As far as going to Disneyland for the day I feel I get a good return on my money. I have spent more money going to a baseball game to set in a decent seat for 2 to 3 hours and not move and get a couple of snacks delivered to the seat. When people say they can’t afford for a family to go that means you just have to save up it’s gonna be a once in a lifetime experience .don’t put so much pressure on the experience that you ruined it.If you just let the magic happen it will. People complain about the long lines . I think it’s an opportunity to interact with my family. People complain about the crowds I just sit on the park bench and enjoy watching the people go by.Just stop complaining about everything they don’t have and work for the things that they want to do life is a give-and-take.

    1. Travis Weberling

Anna, it’s easy to say “don’t complain” about Disney’s ticket prices, long lines & etc, When you’re not in the moment or just gone done going to Disney, BUT I think everybody at some point does find themselves complaining about Disney’s ticket prices, long lines & etc. That’s just the way it here in 2022 & going forward for our society as a whole.

      1. Zach, PHD

Not true. Not everyone finds it too expensive, it’s just that a large group who could afford it yearly all the sudden can’t. They’re also mad that freebies are gone. I’m glad they’re gone, because it’s weeding out Karens from what I can tell. Disney is focusing on a more affluent crowd or people who come less often without strict budgets. The model is working because the parks are packed.

  8. Brian

No, I will not be travelling until our government gives us our rights back in full and drops mask requirements for airplanes. If everyone stayed off airplanes, and they stayed parked at the gates for a month, this mask requirement would end quickly.

    1. TruthSeeker

Yes, do us a favor and stay home! You can wait for all your rights there

Any place that considers a 3 year old as someone that will remember the experience a week later is crazy as hell !! Over $100 for a3 year old !!!! Disney has and always will be about the money. Walt did not put his heart and should into the parks for them to turn out like this. And as far as taking sides in politics??? Stay the “F” out and let everyone else show how stupid the nation has become. Disney needs to focus on fixing their rides and coming up with a solution to lower prices. We all know that will never happen though. I will never give Disney another dollar, in fact I hope all their privileges are taken away. Maybe the CEO needs to give up on his millions and millions of dollars bonuses every year to help with the prices.

  10. Amy

Well I have been on princess cruise I never enjoyed it. My family likes it. Disney has no casinos thank God. Disney will always be the place to go for me. I don’t like the genie.

  11. Bryan

When Chapek took over the parks, prices started their crazy increases. In four years the price of a single day ticket went from under $100 to almost $160 (depending on time of year). If it was not for the pandemic, it could be higher. In addition to that there are 5 different prices for a single day now. You have less amenities now than before, free fast pass is gone and replaced with a paid version. The newest rides basically require that you pay to ride them. If you have a dinning plan, it costs 20% – 50% more since Bob took over.

These costs all add up and they are not in line with changes to inflation.
