It’s never a good idea to RUSH into a new attraction on the mania for the current film:
It’s a Small Bruno is one reason, and Frozen Ever After, Stitch’s Great Escape, Legend of the Lion King, the Studios’ “Voyage of the Little Mermaid” and the Incredi-Coaster are others.
The fact that Encanto will most likely get its own brand new ride and African Americans just get a remade splash mountain shows the systemic racism at Disney.
Splash Mountain will not get remade and nobody will cry when the change nobody asked for is canceled.
Encanto is not a lasting IP, just the latest cash grab from a mediocre movie that will make a waste of resources or a retheme that everyone wishes never happened. It’s sad to see Disney go downthis road; even if it isn’t the first time it’s happened.
“We Don’t Talk About Bruno” is a catchy tune, but I found the movie Encanto itself very boring. It’s not one I am going to rewatch over and over. This movie is not going to stand the test of time like Lion King, Beauty and the Beast, Little Mermaid, and even Frozen.
What do raging fangirls, who’ve colonized Disney fandom after Frozen, have to do with “Racism”?
(Now, if the same fangirls nagged Disney into falling over itself to rush into a Turning Red attraction, then the question would make sense…)
Nothing’s ever good enough for you people, is it?
I think is AWESOME. I love the fact that Disney took the time to show the beauty of this country and shared it with the rest of the world. I can’t wait to go and try the new ride. To the haters and unhappy people. Go and smell the beautiful flowers. That might change your mood. 🥰🥰🥰👏👏👏
They shouldn’t make a sequel of the movie because sequels of Disney movies was against Walt Disney’s wishes. But, an attraction at the parks could be awesome if done right!
Please don’t. Disney parks are more than “based on a movie” and this movie was nothing to create something, other than, characters meet and greet. So many other movies are more deserving. Just because Lin Manuel Miranda is a squeaky wheel, wanting to capitalize for himself and his ego, on a movie that is really just ok, I hope everyone takes a step back, and sits on this idea.
That’s the problem with Disney these days. They overly cater to the squeaky wheels. Encanto was meh at best and Miranda definitely has a huge ego.
Hey remember when a property had to prove it’s staying power before getting a ride? Remember how it took over 20 years for The Little Mermaid and Beauty and the Beast to get their own ride? Where’s The Lion King ride or the Aladdin ride (no, the flying carpets do not count)? Lately though, it seems like Disney is eager to build or retheme attractions based on properties that are brand new, properties that haven’t proved themselves yet. I loved Encanto, but there a lots of other properties that I’d love to see attractions of before that one. Heck, I’d LOVE a Moana boat ride dark ride, but I doubt we’ll ever see that. It’s a whole 6 years in the past now. Disney’s gotta ride the new, hot wave of fandom. Although that might bring you short term success, it’s not always guaranteed to be the popular thing for the long haul.
Blessing in disguise…. when the newer ones are rethemed in a few years people aren’t as upset. Originals are more difficult to change.
An attraction might get it hyped up a little but it’s still like polishing a turd.
Encanto is an amazing film. Disney really missed the boat on it’s popularity. No merchandise left in the stores! The staff will tell you that it blew out as soon as it came in. Why? Because the film is amazing! The squeaky wheel is not Miranda – it is the kids!!
