What terrible math.
People at 40-60 worth of food every meal at the parks?
Rooms’ value is still too much and entirely subjective.
Nice article though, high quality for sure.
$1200 per night per person for the room? I guess if you make up numbers you can justify anything
Yeah, this is a crap breakdown. Compare the costs to a real Disney cruise with similar methodology and more accurately estimated room rates.
You know what…I think most folks seem to make a false value comparison of this thing. The way I look at it?…the average MLB Fantasy Camp costs per attendee about $5,500 for 5 days or $1,100 per day…it varies but that’s the median. For that you get to play and be coached by ex-pros at Spring Training camp, you get a modest Breakfast and Lunch (Dinner on your dime), a practice uniform, and shared accommodations at a mid-range hotel ie: Courtyard Marriott. That I think is a more accurate if not perfect comparison, not that you could travel internationally for less…which is also true.
$2400 per night for a small hotel room is not justified. The parking fees noted are ridiculous. The meal cost might be Disney-esque, but that is hardly pointing to being “underpriced”.
Exactly! “It’s just as overpriced as the other overpriced things Disney is raising the prices on while shrinking the portion sizes!” Not exactly a convincing argument.
And 2400 a night for a tiny room!?!?!? LOLZ.
Wow, imagine an article from a Disney fan saying the price is reasonable, what nonsense!
Lol. Except, when you book a hotel room, the price from 1-4 people doesn’t change. If you book it alone for 2400, it doesn’t go up to 4800 because you added a person. It’s only undervalued if you can’t do simple math.
Jake, my comment is not at you but at the article. Not sure why it posted as a reply but I can’t seem to delete it.
What do you live on.
Galaxy Starcruiser must fail.
With what’s going on in Ukraine this Disney Project is even more ridiculous and inappropriate.
Yeah, imagine a company staying open while trying help their employees earn an income with what is going on in Ukraine. All US companies should just close down, right? 🤦♂️
Don’t see what this hotel has to do with the Ukraine situation?
Disney thanks this woman for her shilling.
This is ridiculous, the costs are astronomical, you cannot justify such a huge cost for two nights.
I love Star Wars, but I’m not wasting my money on this, crazy price and from what I have seen so not worth it.
Massive cost for a average experience. For that money I can holiday in much better places and for longer. Disney you are so greedy.
Replace Bob the Paycheck and his board, they need to get in the REAL WORLD.
You doubled the room cost you moron. Yes Grabd Floridian can be $1200 a night but that’s not going to keep doubling based on additional people staying. USA Today also broke Thai out and showed for four people (3 adults and 1 kid) that they are charging around for 2k more vs the equivalent value. So Disney would be valuing the interactive elements at $2k.
A 1 park, 1 day ticket costs $109. You can’t use any other park ticket in place of this.
Who pays $1,200 for a room in Orlando? Right now, for September, the highest priced non DVC room is $900, and that’s for 2 people. I often have discounts available for AP, Disney Visa and FL Resident. Even DCL offers discounts for those. And this is not a cruise. It’s hotel based using a Modified American Plan (for dining).
Food (2×62) + (4×19) = $200
Room 450 x 2 = $900.00
Experiences 25 x 2 = $50
I’ve been saying this is nothing more than the old Disney Institute, but Version 2.0. I think eventually it will become a deluxe Star Wars themed resort and you can pay more to have the entire experience or pay piecemeal for things like Light Sabre Training.
I just looked at a few room tours, bring the room price down about $100. Disney bases room prices on proximity to the parks, amenities in the hotel and the size of the room. I think the room size though is to keep you out of it and in the story line. But there’s no way these rooms are at the deluxe level.
The Galactic Starcruiser is Disney’s Supreme. They’re creating a marketplace where the item is unattainable and therefor prestigious. Where Supreme only makes so much of an item, making it exclusive, Disney has accomplished the same model by using a VERY large paywall most can’t afford. They are inundating social media in hopes that people will want to save all their hundo’s (pennies won’t work here) to have this major flex that they can show the world. This is nothing new, it’s just on a much larger scale. It’s Club 33 for Star Wars.
It would not shock me at all if this hotel goes dark for a portion of the year. I highly doubt they want to be running a whole experience for 20 rooms. I anticipate they will have a “season” to better book full “ships.”
This is hilarious! $1200 per night per person for a room!! There are not strongman enough words to describe how ridiculous those numbers are.
There is no single supplement at Disney for Starcruiser. One person has to pay $4800 for a cabin even though they are paying twice for non room expenses. It’s the same on Disney cruise line.
I’ve read all of the articles about this “hotel” in previous months.
I still can’t understand how it would be worth what people are paying? It is like all of the other strange things happening in our society…
No Han or Luke. Remember that Star Trek video game with Galron in it even though he should be dead at that time. They should have a lost Han file found where Young Han walks into a room where his father or grandfather is and it’s Harrison Ford who’s first words out of his mouth are “you idiot ” to young Han and rips on him for doing things we know Han does in Star Wars The Original trilogy right up until young Han yells at him “you left us ” and tells old Harrison Ford off for doing things we know Han did in the Sequel trilogy . Or have a Luke force ghost moment or some other things but not unless the guests do something to trigger the events so each trip can be different. As for the price do you know how much Drunk ,High and Laid you can get for that much money. Just saying value seems real low.
Seems like another strong arm tactic by Disney, “Write a favorable article or we’ll not let you in on the scoop next time” article. Same goes with the latest articles about Bob Paycheck.
