I’m surprised Disney doesnt charge a fee to guests to leave their little darlings at the play ground, so the adults can go have a drink or shop. I bet most guest would gladly pay that fee
Kids just want to have fun on vacation. They do not want to stand in lines, they are not into shows, and they keep things simple. Disney Parks have lost an understanding of just having fun.
We usually go with extended family or another family we’re close friends with. We let the kids stay at the playground as long as they want and we switch out going to get adult only time. Also, it’s kind of a good break for us to just chill out, enjoy the atmosphere and we know they’re having a great time. Dragging them from place to place to place while screaming, “Have fun now in exactly the way I’ve predetermined it!” does not sound enjoyable at all.
Sounds like TR doesn’t have kids. And maybe it’s a good thing. Bc it doesn’t matter. You can buy a kids a expensive toy and they will
Play with the box. But very true when someone said they don’t want to stand in line or be dragged around the park bc the parents want to go and see certain things or want to go and rides. Let kids be kids. And have fun
Recently my neice and her family came down for their very first WDW vaca. ( learly January) Her in laws booked a week at AKL. Lovely hotel…but they were miserable. I went for a day to show visit with them and I saw why. Every ride in HS had a 90+ wait time. For a 2 and 6yr old and their parents what fun is that? So after lunch, I took them resort hopping. We rode the skyliner, the boats, the monorail. We walked around Pop and then over to AoA….where they ended up on the playground for over an hour. THAT apparently, was the best day of the 5 they’d been there so far! That’s what’s now wrong with Disney. It mived away from KIDS fun and went more towards adults.
My sister and her husband spent 12 hours setting up an elaborate swing set, rock climbing wall and slide for their children ages 3, 5 and 7. Where were the kids for the big reveal ? In the boxes the swing set came in!
They had more imaginary fun for weeks in their boxed forts and hiding places. My sister learned how to rock climb!
We always pad a day or two of non Park time to enjoy the hotel amenities. General rule is no more than two days in a row in the parks. Need that de-stress day!
I have a suggestion.
When our children were little, we didn’t take them until they were 8-10 years old, and able to go without help (i.e. stroller).
Same goes for grandkids.
Can’t understand why people bring kids who require a stroller into an expensive park where the young children probably won’t have fun.
I speak from experience…

Maybe you should learn to tell your kids when it is time to go instead of letting them walk all over you. Just a thought.

Is Disney for kids or not? Some parents complain about too many single adults at Disney. This article make it sound like Disney is for adults.
