When I was a kid, we’d vacation every other year at Disneyland. (California Adventure didn’t exist yet.) I remember it being extremely hot outside and my whole family got on It’s a Small World the ride. I’ll admit that I stuck my hand, not whole arm, in the water and cupped it to splash water on my family. I cupped my hand pretty much on the top layer of the water and kept my family cool. I didn’t get caught by anyone, except I did get in trouble with my mom. Looking back now being a mom myself, it was a stupid move. Just helps put rules into perspective.
Natural Selection….. If you’re an adult who should know better than to put your arm under a boat on a track… Then don’t cry about it when your arm gets cut off.
I’m sure he was praised not fired. Why would he be fired ? Thats stupid.
This story needs to be told to show how stupid people are.Trump supporter much ?
He didn’t put just his hand in the water, he put his arm in rather deep. We have no idea what’s down there that far down. And of course, you aren’t obligated to read every post, I’m sure you got the idea from the title. It seems there are an awful lot that come here just to complain and/or be really mean.
You are probably break rules too.Go praise your demon leader Trump….and thank him for what he’s teaching you
The article isn’t ridiculous…you are.Just follow the rules
As a former Disney Cast Member I can relate to the stupid things guests do. I have seen people jump out of rides, jump into tracks and stick their hands into places they shouldn’t. Some get seriously injured. Just because you are at the Magic Kingdom doesn’t make it magical. Listen and obey the rules.
Can’t see the video but doesn’t matter they’re all the same. Just another entitled moron who only cares about themself and oh well to the other people just trying to have a nice time.
Rules are there for a reason… folks lose fingers and then sue Disney because they are stupid and cannot follow the rules.
Last Fall at DL on the same ride there was a family of five in the first two rows. Three small boys under 6. CMs loaded them appropriately with one adult per row. The boys all wanted in the front, so Dad stands up, picks up one child from the second row and switches with him as soon as the boat entered the show building. We were the only folks in the boat as they were following COVID protocols, Dad gave me a nasty look which I interpreted as “what are you gonna do about it?”! The children had their fingers in the water through out the ride. If they lost a finger, they most likely would have sued. However, they were completely at fault. When we disembarked, one cast member looked at another and just shrugged. What can they do at that point?
The cast mates shouldn’t have shrugged. They should have escorted the guests out. Again if we keep condoning the behavior it will keep happening. This goes for rude guests rude workers etc.
Perfect example of brain damage. Why do these people walk around alone? They obviously need care givers with them anytime they go out in public.Their brain process is that of a 3 year old. They can’t understand simple rules like “Keep legs and arms inside the ride”.Anyone who posts here, that this article is a waste of time,is just as brain damaged.
My DD was a CM in Fantasy land. She saw more than one person fill a baby bottle with the water in small world and give it to the baby!!! wtf. people are stupid
We seem to forget that there were previous incidents where a Disney guest recklessly placed their hand outside the boat of Pirates Of The Caribbean or It’s A Small World. These boats are on a guided track pushed by controlled water current. Many that had put their hand in the water had their hand caught between the track and the side of the boat. The next think they know they’re escorted to the infirmary to be treated for lacerations or broken bones. So, rules are there for a reason.
Something it seems none of you seem to notice, this article is incomplete and therefore basically pointless. The title makes it clear that someone stuck their arm in the water. The article text at least indicates that rules were broken by someone sticking their arm deep into the water of the “It’s a Small World” ride. The statement is made that the rules are “there for a reason”. Why? The article doesn’t actually specify anything about a result of the idiot’s rule breaking. At best there is a link to watch a video to find out the result of the rule breaking. A news article has to be self contained providing the relevant information for the event that is being reported.

“Trump supporter much” Really? You just have to be that guy who interjects his politics into a story where it’s not warranted nor wanted huh?

Tiff Tiff

Mar
Why, Why, Why ,must you bring politics into everything.
People are stupid- no matter their political beliefs. Looks like YOU are ignorant too!
Lshark

You’re probably one of the idiots who would do something stupid like the guy in the article.
Stacey

This is why we can’t have nice things.
CJ
I agree, Ken.
It’s why we get a longer Safety Spiel, as well as those Decals strategically placed for Park Guests to see when seated.

why would you even write this garbage. No real news today. Pathetic!!!

I did it once as a kid (and got my hand smacked by my dad), never did it again. You know some fool will do it, get hurt and sue over it.

I’m sure I saw Lisa Simpson do this in one episode…… It’s happened again! They predicted the future!!

Because it’s a recent video and, while though this moron might not have had anything go wrong, plenty of others have.
The fact that you, and apparently other mouth
breathers, need this spelled out for is EXACTLY why the article was posted.
Good job being one of the ignorant masses. I’ll bet you’re so proud.

Harsh!
