I think it will become a frenzy of price increases for Mears , Ubers and Lyfts. I see the rental car situation being even more difficult than it is now. These companies will know families need transportation and will have to pay for it. The only way out of this is if the costs just to get to Disney is too much for families to want to go. If Disney starts to feel the loss in their wallets then something might change. Hotel, Tickets, Food, Souvenirs and now insane prices to reach the hotel or to rent a car and pay parking fees. People are going to figure out they can travel else where for a lot less.

    1. Disney on a dime no more

The best way to book an Uber is to kee checking the price once at MCO. The rates constantly change..minute to minute..it sucks but one minute it’ll say $75 the sext it’ll say $30. It’s a gamble any way you slice it.
Renting a vehicle, do it after you check in at your hotel to avoid the high premiums from the airport. Or if staying on disney grounds skip it all together’ the cost will suck (resort parking fees are daily now). Good luck to you all.

  2. Hello

    what about port orleans?

    1. AH

No mods or values listed so it is just the people who can pay again it seems.

mears connect is available to all disney owned hotels. the third party hotels were what was added on top of all hotels that disneys magical express already serviced

Staying offsite is so much better now I guess. Hotels offer free transport from Airport to your hotel and to parks.
No perks for staying at a disney hotel any more.

The perk for staying at an on property hotel is that you can have things you have everything you buy sent to your room versus carrying it around. Also, last time I stayed off property, they only had one or 2 times to go to the parks and only 1 time to get back, meaning if you miss it, you’ll have to pay to get back, and that’s assuming that it’s at a good time for you. I had one come to pick you up at 6. Too early in my opinion. It might be more expensive, but it’s way better to stay on property than to stay off and depending on how you treat the staff, they can make your stay even better.

We just booked with Sunshine Flyer! They started in December! It will be $93 for four of us round trip from MCO to Port Orleans. My two year old is free.

I did not want to book with Mears and risk being picked up in an SUV or car without a car seat!

One reason I Boynton DVC is because of the free transportation firm the airport to Animal Kingdom. Disney is making the ability to visit cost prohibitive. When will the penny pinching end. Seriously thinking of taking less vacations there now.

      Boynton=bought. Damn auto correct.

Considering that everyone is struggling after the pandemic, it’s not that hard to believe even Disney needs some time to recover as well. People need to relax.

I have many family members who work at Disney. The parks are busy despite the pandemic. Disney always increase prices when there’s record attendance (any cast member will tell you this info!). Pandemic or not the parks are extremely busy (all the time). I have not been there during this pandemic, where the parks are slow. I’ve been six times during 2021. Previous year was and has been busy as well. Disney has been away from the small attention to detail and the magic that they once offered to their guests. Disney is now the park for the wealthy. Sad to see this happen. I grew up going to Disney. Does she need to see that many families are being priced out of visiting Disney World. This point in Universal is way more affordable in the atmosphere is less stressful and just plain ol’ fun! Disney is milking the money out of families. Very disappointing!

          Correction: stupid auto correct.

Sad to see that many families are being priced out of Disney World.

I booked with Happy Limousine. Ford transit van for 8 of us to Movies. Around $200 r/t. We are bringing our own car seat.

Walt Disney would roll over in his grave and fire the entire board for their mismanagement of Disney World. Constant gouging and increases have destroyed his dream

    1. Colleen Corr-Panek

I have been saying the same thing about Walt turning in his grave and seeing the prices of things. He’s probably yelling saying “this is not what I had envisioned! It was supposed to to be a place that was MAGICAL and now families can’t afford to experience my vision!”…. SMH at penny pinching while the costs still climb…

    2. Jordan

You might want to consider the fact that we are still dealing with the impact of the pandemic before assuming that the company is being mismanaged and that they are trying to ruin it.

  8. Nancy Raggio

I’m sure the author meant to include all the Value resorts as well?

    1. AH

You may also notice that no moderates were listed as destinations.

    2. Dulcie

It looked to me like only deluxe resorts and DVC. No moderate or value were on the list.

    3. sarah

all disney owned hotels are available with mears connect

The way to get Disney to lower the gouging is to STOP going. We all love the magic but it’s being systematically replaced by greed. Every day there is a new price increase or perk removed. We need to collectively STOP going to WDW and that will induce change.

  10. Lisa

I’m thinking I’d rather drive my own vehicle…. Or stop visiting WDW altogether! Fed up with hearing no news except that about price increases and less Guest amenities!

If you buy an Annual Pass, it pays for itself if you visit only two times per year. You don’t have to worry about tickets. Parking at the parks is free. You get discounts almost everywhere. If you do the math for two visits per year, you will find that APs are more cost-effective.

For us Florida Residents, APs are a total bargain, as we can visit whenever we want (outside of block-out dates) and don’t worry about tickets or parking fees. The discounts are nice too.

This is so depressing to hear. Every day it is an article about another perk being lost or the cost of parts of the vacation going up. After over a decade of going every year, we skipped the last two years. First with the resort being closed when we were booked to go and by the time it opened we couldn’t make it work with our school schedule. Then last year, we vacationed elsewhere while masks were in effect. Now it would be time to make a decision about booking for this Summer and I just don’t know what to do. I wish I had a crystal ball to be able to tell if some of the things we are waiting for to come back (like the dining plan) will be back to normal and if masks will be completely gone again by then. I have heard so many people who have visited the last couple of years say that the magic just isn’t there anymore. It is a big gamble to spend the kind of money you do for a Disney trip if it isn’t going to be worth it.

  13. Gappy

Even with Magical Express included and FP (which no longer exists) the cost of a WDW vacation two years ago was about $500 less than our scheduled trip this spring. It’s utterly ridiculous. This likely will be our last family trip to WDW. It’s so out of control.

  14. Larry

Just one more reason for people NOT to visit money hungry Disney! Disney is all about $$$$ anymore. Just keep pushing customers away! It’s ridiculous.

  15. EM

Exactly so in reality it is now a price increase for your room plus transportation increase of around $200 or more.

  16. Disney is showing horrible signs of being a company run by MBA’s it could kill them

  17. Kay

We knew this would happen and at the moment it seems as if all the options to get you back and forth will operate just like all the hotels do – on and off seasons, pushing the rate as high as possible with competition being in the form of speed, reliability and availability. It’ll feel like a monopoly even though it’ll be different companies owning and operating. Idk what happened to make Disney break the bubble, but maybe the city of Orlando and some powerful corporations demanded a bigger piece of the vacation dollar. They’ll be getting more locals visiting and fewer out of staters if everyone keeps raising prices. And for everyone thinking they’ll go visit a different park, don’t worry – it won’t be long until they raise their prices too. They’ll watch Disney admission and food rates and begin to slowly raise theirs while keeping it just a bit lower.
