If you are ever concerned, speak with the people bear the animals, you will find out that Knotts goes way out of their way to make sure the animals are well cared for. What you see on stage may only be a small portion of what is going on. And keep in mind this was for Haunt, so they may very well have done things to shock, while still properly taking care of the animals, perhaps rotating them out frequently, etc. Or the issues that you see is simulated.

Do not wait until you have left the area to say something, as you will be talking to people that have no control over things. If you speak with the animal handlers directly, you will get accurate information and in a timely manner.

Burnt Casque happen quite often with grilled chameleons believe it or not and most times it’s not due to neglect. Just the lizard trying to get too close to the heat lamp and getting it’s Casque burnt. Also this click is so short you can’t actually discern anything from it so anyone talking bad about this business is jumping to conclusions. You can’t get an accurate on its condition or it’s enclosure from such a short video.

      beautifully said!!!🙂

Always report any concern or witness any kind of animal cruelty to the Animal Human Society because they can handle it the way it should be. Going direct to the Human Resources won’t do anything. The Haunt is totally different and they do sick things.

Some species don’t have casque, maybe it’s not a veiled? I couldn’t talk anything from the 2 sec clip

This was posted four months ago, Cedar Fair may have changed since then after criticism.

It’s perfectly fine for her to report what she’s been shown. As stated, nobody has to prove anything. If after investigations this is proven to be false, then at least somebody said something. If it’s true, then the animal gets help. There’s no reason to bash Alessa. We’re always being told, “if you see something, say something.” I think you need to grow up and stop being a little bitch. Unless you work at KBF, you know nothing more than the rest of us. I bet fighting dogs are treated great too, until it’s time to put them on display.

EXACTLY. idk why people are so quick to defend parks/zoos when they really really know sh!t outside of what they looked up on google. “talk to an employee” lol dude, seaworld for example has been caught telling people straight up lies and presenting them as facts. At least these people are expressing concern, what’s the worst that could happen? they find out for a fact that the animal is doing well?? exactly like you said, see something say something. better safe than sorry. but no, these theme park stannies would rather j@ck off these large corporations than ever accept that their “fave park!!! 🤪” could be doing something negligent involving animals. the second it’s a human that gets hurt, people care. but that’s another story… lol

” idk why people are so quick to defend parks/zoos when they really really know sh!t outside of what they looked up on google. “ The same could be said for the person that reported the alleged neglect. Learn and research before making assumptions.

So here is the thing. The creepy critter exhibit is not owned, or managed by Knott’s. They are a vendor like in the veign of those that come in for the crafts fairs, and boysenberry festival. Several are actual rescues, and they utilize volunteer help. So at the most it could lead to Knott’s not bringing them back.

    1. Bunny

Yes, exactly the knotts creepy critter exhibit was an outside vendor who would actually take the critters out when the parked turned from spooky farm into scary farm, during this season saw them moving them out every night.

i didn’t see any false accusations or misinformation in the article or this comment section, i saw people concerned about an animal who might be in a crisis 🤔 perhaps the only employee nearby was one who doesn’t work directly with the animals? “If there was actual concern it could have been addressed in that moment with the rescue as we have no issue whatsoever discussing his situation.” lol.. “WE” have no issue? do u work there lol? bc if so then you have no right to expect people to know what you know. if you don’t work there, how about instead of being demeaning about people not knowing things that aren’t publicly available, as well as crying about “misinformation”, you either learn to proofread what you write or maybe take a chill pill bc it really ain’t that deep. people were concerned and that’s that on that.

Maybe Knotts Berry Farm is not directly to blame, but if the critter exhibit was handled by a vendor, what “concerned rescuer” with that vendor thought that taking newly rescued, traumatized, sick, and scared animals/ reptiles to a noisy exhibition was a good way to care for them? I don’t believe that the casque in question was altered cosmetically for Halloween. That is straight up burned or broken off in some horrible way. There is no way a reputable animal rescue organization would display animals that had been the victims of cruelty and abuse. You all need to take off the rose colored glasses and start seeing the awful truth of what exhibition animals must suffer.

    Hmmmm….
Someone told me something similar once.
You know…. To get a life. When I reported child endangerment, after said child showed me their “frying pan” bruise.

Best to err on the side of caution or be like you, callous, unconcerned, and just plain horrid.

Best to save a life than “get one”

    1. BK

Yeah because child abuse is the same as possible lizard abuse….

Can’t comment about Chameleons but Iguana Stew is really quite good.
    Ingredients:
    1 Iguana
    1 large Onion
    2 Cloves Garlic
    3 Tomatoes
    2 Green Peppers
    4 teaspoon Achiote Oil
    1 pinch Pepper
    Salt — To Taste

Friends in Trinidad swear by it !

Even if what you’re spewing is true, what respectable animal organization takes injured and/or traumatized animals that are in the middle of rehab to a theme park exhibit in order to, possibly, injure and/or traumatize them even further?

Your comment lacks basic common sense skills.

  11. If people has complained to to ASPSA they need to investigate , or some other animal rescue group needs to take a look

  12. Caleb

Of course it’s in California, home of the most sensitive people to ever exist 🤡

  13. I cant believe all the wrong people get away with ,especially when it comes to animals.no telling how bad a shape that poor animal is in. It looks bad.this place needs to be locked down, along with the monsters making money doing these disgusting cruel things to poor helpless animals! These are heartless monsters that the law should come down hard on.if they are doing this , there is no telling how cruel they’re being to the other animals.

Yes, and lets get after those evil people who make their living raising and processing (butchering) cattle & calves, pigs, chickens, turkeys, sheep, lambs, ducks, geese and fish so we humans can have our hamburgers, steak and veal, pork chops and bacon, chicken wings, nuggets and chicken breast, drumsticks and sandwich meat, mutton and lamb chops, Peking duck, foie gras and fish sticks and fish filets. What did you have to eat this weekend?? Broccoli doesn’t count.

      1. Babz

        Yes, let’s.

  14. Sabrina

I was a manager for a big box pet chain for Manny years and the majority of the time in the small animal and fish department. In my experience NO CHAMELEON should be on display like that because they stress far too easy for starters… Toss in the absolute FACT that it’s habitat is NOWHERE NEAR UP TO PAR! There are several reasons it’s casque might be gone like getting to close to the heat lamp BUT again I STRESS my first 2 points!

  15. Sibley

Sounds like something is going on at Knott’s!! I remember Knott’s
If I lived in Orange County again I’d ask if I could bring the chameleon over to Arizona !! I’m sure he’d agree!! If he appears stressed I’m sure he is!

All you need to do is visit in the summer and take a look at the poor horses foaming at the mouth pulling the stagecoach. I watched for several trips on a day that was 90 degrees and the horses are not given water between trips and they are carrying heavy loads.

    1. bardo

No they weren’t. Why are you being such a drama queen???

      1. Babz

There’s no “drama queen” they’re. Just a concerned person stating a sad fact. Have some compassion. Poor horses.

        1. Babz

          *there. (Auto correct!)
