Universal Orlando Resort is currently in the midst of its busiest time of the year.
Throughout the remainder of the year, Universal’s City Walk is open until 2 a.m. every night while Universal’s Islands of Adventure and Universal Studios stay open until at least 9 p.m., closing at 10 p.m. most nights.
However, after the holiday celebrations have come to an end and Guests ring in the New Year, it seems that hours will be reduced for the majority of the month of January.
Universal Orlando Resort has posted its hours for most of the month of January for its Parks, as well as City Walk.
Universal’s Islands of Adventure, which is staying open until 10 p.m. every night for the remainder of the year, will reduce its hours beginning the first week of January. The Park will be closing at 7 p.m. most nights during the week and will be staying open until 8 p.m. or 9 p.m. on most weekends. Islands of Adventure is set to close at 6 p.m. on January 19 and the last two Sundays of the month will close at 7 p.m.
Currently, Universal Studios only has hours listed through January 16. The times bounce between 7 p.m. and 8 p.m. closures.
Universal’s City Walk will also experience reduced hours beginning in January.
After January 2, the popular nightlife attraction– which features dance clubs, shops, restaurants, and more– will begin closing at midnight Monday through Thursday, as well as Sunday, and will still stay open until 2 a.m. on Friday and Saturday.
These hour changes should be expected, as Universal typically experiences a bit of a drop-off in crowd capacity following the holidays.
Finally, through January 16, Universal’s Volcano Bay will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. all days except Tuesdays and Thursdays.
It should also be noted that Universal will permanently close Shrek 4-D in Universal Studios on January 10 and The Revenge of the Mummy will close for an extended refurbishment on January 7.
Hours can vary and change based upon crowd expectation, so make you sure you check out Universal Orlando’s official website for the latest information.
