Universal Orlando Resort Guests may not have to wait much longer for a major attraction to make its way back to the Parks.
Universal Orlando has been painting the outside of Poseidon’s Fury in the Lost Continent of Universal’s Islands of Adventure for several weeks now and just gave an update for the future of the attraction, which has been closed for more than two years since prior to the pandemic.
Universal Orlando posted on Twitter that Guests can now meet with members of the Global Discovery Group in front of Poseidon’s Fury.
The legend is true! You can now meet Professor Elias Baxter and other members of the Global Discovery Group in front of Poseidon’s Fury.

For those who may not know, the Global Discovery Group is a part of the attraction’s storyline. The group is supposed to be giving a tour to a group when Professor Elias Baxter, who was supposed to be giving the tour, goes missing. Taylor, the loveable assistant, is then thrust into action and forced to help save the day.
As you can see from the pictures above, Professor Baxter is not yet missing but the fact that Universal is beginning to place characters outside of the attraction tells us that it might not be much longer before it finally reopens.
Universal Orlando describes the walk-through attraction like this:
An Explosive Undersea Adventure.
Follow an archeologist guide and venture through the ruins of the ancient Temple of Poseidon, Greek god of the sea. But once you’ve journeyed far beneath the ocean, you’re caught in a colossal battle between Poseidon and the evil Lord Darkenon. Fireballs burst, lasers flash, and water erupts around you in this spectacular special effects experience.
While Poseidon’s Fury has never been the most popular attraction for Guests visiting Universal Orlando Resort, it has been respected for its impressive use of special effects and its impressive façade made it the anchor attraction of The Lost Continent, which is currently only being used for shops, dining, and to hold overflow line queues for Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure.
Universal Orlando’s reopening date for Poseidon’s Fury has not been announced and the attraction is still listed as closed currently, but these latest developments mean we could certainly hear something soon. That being said, we have seen the construction behind the walls progress with new paintwork.
Are you excited for Poseidon’s Fury to reopen at Universal’s Islands of Adventure?
