There were plans to bring the Creature into the post-Mummy Tom Cruise “Dark Universe”, along with the “feminist” Bride of Frankenstein and “steampunk” Invisible Man, but nothing solid came of it beyond the planted onscreen Easter-egg.
If they did have a story in place, though…TOLD ya this was going to happen.
