Universal Confirms New Year’s Eve Celebration Has Been Canceled

Universal Orlando Resort Guests hoping to ring in the New Year with a massive party will have to look elsewhere this year.

While it has been assumed for quite some time, Universal Orlando Resort had not officially confirmed that its annual New Year’s Eve party at Universal’s CityWalk — called EVE– would not be taking place this year.

Universal Orlando confirmed that the party would not be taking place earlier today on Twitter.

Hey there! EVE at Universal CityWalk will not be taking place this year, however, Guests can enjoy special New Year’s Eve menu items at select Universal CityWalk dining locations, as well as buffet options, meal specials and live entertainment at our Universal Orlando hotels.

While there will be no official party to ring in the New Year, Universal Orlando Resort Guests will still have some options when it comes to celebration this weekend.

Universal Studios Florida will be open from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. and will have its nightly Cinematic Celebration at 7:45 p.m. and 9:45 p.m. Universal’s Islands of Adventure will be open from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.

At Universal CityWalk, you can ring in 2022 at Hard Rock Live with Classic Albums Live: The Beatles’ Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band! Several restaurants and clubs are offering special dining menus and much more. In addition, Universal Orlando Resorts will have special dining, live entertainment, and Universal’s Aventura Hotel is hosting a separately-ticketed New Year’s Eve event.

Here is what Universal Orlando Resort says about the event:

$150* Standing Room [*tax and ticketing fees not included] Enjoy the celebration beginning at 8pm. Includes specialty food, beer, wine and featured specialty cocktails until 11pm (cash bar from 11pm – 1am), along with a DJ, party favors and midnight prosecco toast. Cocktail tables that can accommodate up to four guests each are positioned throughout the standing room area.

$1,260* VIP Package [*tax and ticketing fees not included] Includes all the benefits of a standing room ticket for up to six people in your party, PLUS couch seating and two bottles of Piper-Heidsieck Cuvée 1785 Champagne.

Cabana Bay Beach Resort is also hosting a special New Year’s Eve Party Spectacular for  Resort Guests only.

It should be noted that over in Universal Studios Hollywood, it was announced a few weeks ago that EVE would be returning.
