It seems that the ride that started out the year with a massive five-day closure after an unexpected maintenance issue may be ending the year in the same way!

At Disney’s Hollywood Studios, one of the most popular attractions is Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith. The attraction can be found at the end of Sunset Boulevard and often boasts a wait time of 60-minutes or more. Interestingly enough, the ride is now closed for its second day in a row.

The attraction was not scheduled for any planned refurbishment, and on the My Disney Experience app, it is noted as “Temporarily Closed.” When this happens, it oftentimes means that a small issue must be corrected, and the ride ends up running as usual shortly after. That being said, sometimes the issue may be greater than expected, which seems to possibly be the case with Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith as this is the second day the ride has been closed.

At the moment, we do not know what is wrong with the attraction; however, there is a chance that it will be up and running at any moment. Guests in the Park should keep an eye out on their My Disney Experience app to see if a wait time is posted on the attraction.

Disney describes Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith as:

Live Life in the Fast Lane
Inside their Hollywood music studio, legendary rock band Aerosmith is wrapping up a recording session. When their manager tells them they’re late for a concert across town, the band invites you to ride along.

Hop into their gleaming limousine and speed off into the night as Aerosmith’s hard-rock harmonies fill the air. Buckle up before zooming through the city on this roller-coaster style attraction.

Rock This Way
Speed through iconic Hollywood landmarks. Maneuver past traffic jams and swoop into 3 thrilling inversions—2 rollover loops and one corkscrew—as the wind races across your face.

Will you make it to the year’s biggest concert in time?

State-of-the-Art Sound
Your super-stretch limo is decked out with a 125-speaker, 24-subwoofer, 32,000-watt audio system.

Each vehicle broadcasts different Aerosmith hit songs, including “Walk This Way,” “Dude (Looks Like a Lady),” “Sweet Emotion” and “Back in the Saddle.” The classic “Love in an Elevator” was rewritten as “Love in a Roller Coaster” specifically for this rocktastic attraction.

With all of the Disney Parks hitting capacity for today and tomorrow, New Year’s Eve, we hope to see the ride back in action soon. At Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Guests can ring in the New Year with Disney as they “Move and groove at Disney’s Hollywood Studios with a high-energy DJ dance party in front of the Chinese Theater on December 31. Dance into 2022 with a sizzling countdown moment!”
