  1. The guest (who paid $60 for the family to ride Rise) just got a LL pass for the remaining hour of the park being open. What happens if Rise does not open again during that hour? With no refunds, what do the guests do that situation?

I was in the queue when it broke down on Thursday. Was after the park had closed, so we got a free LL pass for the next day.
Unfortunately, you can’t use it on the high-tier rides like Rise, so basically wasted time and money.

You go to Guest Experience people (under the blue umbrella next to the entrance to star wars part–they are literally in the corner of the fence).

They will refund you your LL BUT you have to give up the “recovery LL” they give you. Which doesn’t QUITE make sense when they gave those to EVERYONE who was on the ride at the time. We got our $30 back.

We finally got our turn to Rise…got called as standby seats.
Once inside, ride broke down (fire Alarm), we were escorted our thru the backstage staff hallways. Even got to see new order staff taking their breaks in staff break room. They never broke character. I guess even in space they must follow Ca labor laws.
Luckily we got back on after about a 30 minute wait.

We were in the same boat (literally same night on the ride in the middle.& had to be evac off). Our car made it to the cannons.

We gave it up because it was 740 (we had LL at Aerosmith & then were going to ride tower of terror & like I told my hubs who knew I’d the ride was even going to come back up). The ride went down at 712-ish and it took them 15 mins to get us off. They had make calls because they “lost power” and the evacuation halls didn’t have lights on.

If the ride breaks more than when it works, then Disney should shut it down and troubleshoot the entire system and make robust repairs.

Offering guests a pay option to get into a virtual queue is a way to rip off, I mean gain revenue, but when the ride breaks down, that ruins the full experience. When the ride breaks down and gets evacuated, that most certainly waste that party’s money. A refund or alternate day should be offered.

I used to love going to Disney World. But, the cost to go is ridiculous. The price of tickets is stupid expensive. The price for food and drinks is laughable. Now, if you don’t want to wait in a 6 hour line, you can pay for a time slot and NOT receive a refund when the darn ride breaks.

    Unfortunately, I’m done with Disney.

We were there. What happens is:

      1) you get evac off the ride
      2) they meet you backstage with a tablet and add a “recovery LL” to your magicband/ticket,etc
      3) you CAN get a refund for the ILL you purchased

For us the ride went down around 712pm took them 15 mins to get us off the ride. We had Aerosmith & tower terror left but also who knew if the ride was coming back up.
Went to the guest experience umbrella people and someone with a tablet said they would happily refund us BUT we would have to give up the recovery ILL (which makes no sense as they gave the recovery LL to everyone on the ride at the time whether they bought it or not). I opted for my $30 back.

But I did hear a lady in front of me get Ratatouille instead.

  5. There’s no satisfaction with some of you. Technology goes down, nothing is perfect. They could get hundred things right & 1 thing wrong & quick to cry like spoiled children. Never post good things, it’s always what’s the next thing to cry about. You people make me utterly sick with your unappreciated ways & constant crying.

BS!!!! People are well aware that technology and rides break down, what they are complaining about is if they spent extra money to ride that ride and coulding then, they should be reimbursed and it should not be a difficult process to be refunded. And, if disney is refunding a lot of money maybe one of two things should happen, stop charging extra or keep the ride in better condition..

I call BS on this response. It’s not a difficult process to get refunded, you just have to ask for it. Disney Guest Experience is usually on top of the game whether it comes to issues at the parks, hotels, or otherwise. If you have a reasonable issue, they do their best to make it right. I’ve had numerous issues over the many years I’ve been coming to the parks and can’t complain about the way Disney handled it in any instance. My advice would be to ask for what you want in return, the worst that happens is that they say no but find another solution.

If you think about it, not giving the recovery LL if you’re refunded makes sense as those who waited in like for 90+ minutes are made whole by skipping the line to re-ride while those with ILL and skipped the line are made while by getting the refund. I’m with DisneyWretch on this one – tech is going o have issues, I’d rather them push the limits with the technologies in the rides rather than play it safe.
