On June 4, 2020, Disneyland Resort returned swinging from the pandemic closure as the theme Park Resort opened a brand-new land in Disney California Adventure.
With the opening of Avengers Campus, Guests were able to finally experience the 3D ride that would bring Guests into W.E.B. — the Worldwide Engineering Brigade — all while slinging webs like Spider-Man as they worked to save Avengers Campus from out-of-control Spider Bots. The ride is called WEB SLINGERS: A Spider-Man Adventure, and just like Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, the new attraction utilizes a virtual queue system.
Recently, Disney announced that they would change its virtual queue system for WEB SLINGERS: A Spider-Man Adventure. Disneyland Cast Members working the attraction may now choose to pause the virtual queue boarding system and open the standby queue. At the time, Disney noted, “We continue to evaluate how Guests can access our attractions, whether standby or virtual queue, to help provide a great Guest experience and access to our most-anticipated attractions.”
Now, it seems things have changed. Reporter Scott Gustin has taken to Twitter to announce the starting tomorrow; WEB SLINGERS will be moving to a standby queue for most days.
Update: WEB SLINGERS will move to a standby queue starting tomorrow morning. The virtual queue will still be used occasionally (based on crowds, demand, etc.) – but it sounds like standby will be the new default.

It seems that there may still be a virtual queue utilized at times, but for the most part, it will be a standby queue. Considering that this attraction is an “a la carte” selection when it comes to Lightning Lane, this change is not too surprising. If Guests are paying a premium to skip the lines, having it be virtual could defeat the purpose and slow down sales.
WEB SLINGERS is described on the Disneyland Resort website as:
Embark on an action-packed adventure alongside the amazing Spider-Man! When Peter Parker’s helpful but otherwise buggy Spider-Bots get stuck in replication mode and escape from a WEB Workshop, Spider-Man must stop the rampaging robots before they wreak total techno-havoc across Avengers Campus. Problem is, they’re rapidly leveling up and becoming tough to beat!
Your task? Hop aboard a WEB Slinger vehicle and help weave a frenzied web to trap these friendly neighborhood sidekicks in true Spidey style. It’s up to you to unleash your inner hero and save the Campus from complete chaos!
