De Efteling was the first theme park I ever went to when we visited family there when I was 4 and remember riding this with my parents, and, I hang my head as a huge Disney fan, but I prefer Carnival Festival. The whole park has a special place in my heart, particularly the Fairy Tale Forest, a walkthrough where you see interactive animatronics and tableaux of classic Fairy Tales like Hansel and Gretel, Red Riding Hood. A dark ride I always remember was based on the 1001 Arabian Nights and always scared me. I believe Walt visited the park when Disneyland was in development to gather ideas that could be used and improved upon in his park. Any other fellow Europeans, I implore you to visit De Efteling if you get a chance, it’s not Disney but it’s still special and magical.
