Not sure what the mystery is. The can had a limited cold storage timeframe and even buried in mud I’m sure the embryos would no longer be viable IF/when someone found it some odd years later.
Embryo and Dino smuggling attempts are given a lot more attention in the original novels by Michael Crichton. It looks like Dominion is actually pulling from the roots and will be using an antagonist from Biosyn, which is a shady bioengineering company in the original novels.
I’m quite positive that Hollywood will recover the Barbasol can and make more dinos. This franchise will not die quietly but at least not beaten to death like Star Wars.
