I visited ghost town in sky. I was just a kid but I have distinct memories there was a staged gun fight in the street and the saloon had live dancing girls. I visited years later and the live shows were no more but my wife and I still have a photo of us on the chairlift. Seems like last time we visited there was a Cherokee Indian show but I might me be confusing that with another place. The problem with the place is it is way off the beaten trail, there are no major highways.

I have been going up and down the east coast since I was born. Used different routes, visited different places and I never heard of this place.

Went with family, age 13…what I remember most is being scared because an adult man kept following us and getting on the same rides when I did, trying to get in the seat with me. Totally creeped out!

Have visited this place many times as a child & even a Few as a young adult. This place was pure magic for my family & I. Only a couple hours drive from home. Breaks my heart to see it so abandoned & desolate. Would really love to see it thriving again.

I guess it depends when you were born as to a reason why you’ve never heard of it.
No matter, I’d heard of it but wasn’t interested enough to make a trip there. It wasn’t easy to get to from NY and I figured that going to Disney would be easier. I guess I wasn’t the only one.

Went to ghost town when I was a young teenager with my family. There was a gunfight in the street. The saloon was open. Still have pictures of it all and one of my brother, friend and I in the jail! Loved the ride on the rails to get up the mountain to the top. Was a cool different kind of park!

I am from NC and went several times on family vacations and again as an adult. On one of the adult trips there was a surprise snowstorm. It was falling so thickly we could barely see the outline of the buildings from one side of the Western street to the other. They closed the chairlift and everyone had to go down to the parking lot on the cable cars.

I went there in 2007 when they re opened.it was amazing. Beautiful scenery and it took you away from reality for a day.i miss it.

I visited Ghost Town as a kid and I now live near the old park. There have been several people try to purchase and revive the park. There are rumors now that someone is working to purchase it.

It was a cool place. I hope it can get a revitalization one day. Maggie Valley, NC is a nice place to visit if you end up in this part of NC. It is right beside the Cataloochie side of the Smokey Mountain National Park. Great place for Elk sightings

I grew up in KY and vacationed here when I was a child in the 70s. I loved it!. Maggie valley is a beautiful place.

I went with my wife and kid sometime in the 90s. We were the only 3 people there all day. Still remember riding the roller coaster alone in the rain and the sound of plastic poncho flapping. The 3 of us sitting in front of a stage where a man played banjo with his toes while two women clogged and all 3 stared past us at the back of the room. The owner walked up and thanked us for coming at one point.

Sad to see something like this happen to a place that was meant to bring happiness for children and adults. Maybe Disney put a hex on it?

I was there in 1992. We were living in Jellico Tennessee at the time. We rode the cable car up to the top. I remember the gun fight and the saloon. I remember being up in the clouds. It was really cool coming down on the chair lift. It was a nice place to visit. I love the mountains. It’s even prettier when the leaves change color there.
