Have you been in world showcase before? And if so have you taken a look over towards the Epcot resorts? Giant dolphins…. Giant swans… 2, now 3 huge hotels. The Epcot skyline has been wrecked for a long time!

Marvel coaster is seemingly taking over the EPCOT skyline, throwing up questions of whether, and how.

If I ever rode this attraction, the only question regarding “throwing up” would be how soon it would happen

Are you serious?…. what kind of expectations do these people have?! Why have they not said anything about the Rockin Rollercoaster showbuilding!???!??! ITS THE SAME THING… what is the big deal? You can’t simply turn a massive building invisible, they paint it blue to blend with CLEAR BLUE skies which occur 90% of the time in orlando… when its a bright sunny day, you will not notice it at a glance… these pictures are during an overcast… some people are just ungrateful, the same people that whine about the ticket prices despite the addition of more rides and experiences…

Yea, but remember, at Hollywood Studios, you’re supposed to be walking around a studio lot. So that fits in with the theming there.

For Guardians, I’ll reserve judgement until the exterior is finished and the ride is open. I was there two weeks ago and you can see that building from anywhere in the park. It is just about as visible as the golf ball.

Not so, that illusion ended years ago.
It no longer even pretends to have anything to do with a studio lot anymore.
You need a substantial new building to house a substantial new ride.

I’m 75 years old and until last year had been, according to my now grown children, an insanely fervent Disney World fan!
While I was intensely anticipating all the new attractions, especially Guardians of the Galaxy, up and until Disney “Things” changed with the exposure of the corporate worlds Covid induced reactions. I’m not criticizing the concern they had/have, I’m complaining about why someone…somehow took the Magic from me and asking if anyone knows if it will ever return?
Until I know these things, Epcot’s skyline is way down the list of my concerns.
I miss WDW in my and my families life.

Yep, the show building is a ‘huge’ fail. They could fix the problem with an overlay like the Guardians attraction in California Adventure. Embrace the building don’t try to hide it by painting it blue. That makes it worse.

I have to agree with most of these comments. We have absolutely loved taking our boys to WDW, hopping on a bus from the airport, staying at the resorts, and purchasing the meal package but things have definitely changed. I don’t see any plans in our future to return. We have NO interest in Star Wars or Guardians. I wouldn’t waste my time or money anymore.

  5. There are so many not coming back to Disney World because o the rides price. They catering to the rich people that do not want to stand in line like everyone else.
I for one wish they would go back to fast pass where you pick want time and ride you want or limited the people in each park.
There are more people then they are rich.
People stop going because of the extra cost of the rides.
I also read where it isn’t working out to good about the cost of the rides. Please still have to wait.

As a highly invested , long term Disney DVC member , it will be a long time before we go to ANY Disney park again due to the in your face greed that the CEO is building his legacy upon. We have loved the magic for 20 years straight but the soaring ticket and annual pass prices plus the genie + and “ lightening lane “ gouging that replaced free Fast Pass , we’ve had enough. We’ll use our DVC points to stay at our home resort then visit other attractions in Florida. The CEO has to go as he’s totally forgotten Walt’s vision.

If this is the “final” look of the building, imagineering has gone off the track. Let’s hope there’s more to come with this.

    Guardians of the Galaxy? Yawn.

Still nowhere near as bad as the light show barges that have ruined epcot lake. Look like something out of mad max.

  9. snahe

There no imagineers left, there’s just engineers doing their ho-hum job, downgrading the parks with bad attractions, like Runaway Railway, the movie ride was so much better, its laughable what they replaced it with.

  10. Just make it part of the “metaverse”, sell VR glasses plus a subscription. It is all people MIGHT be able to afford in the near future.

Give me a break. It’s blocking the view of the…….Parking lot? I had guests in town and yesterday I had to point it out. They never even noticed it. I’m not saying it isn’t huge, but is it really a big deal? I enjoy the fact that it actually helps block out that stupid helicopter that flies over every 5 minutes. That’s more of a distraction than that building will ever be!

Compared to the massive fountains and screens for HarmonioUS blocking the World Showcase skyline, the GotG show building is nothing. Sure it is big, but it is out of the way, and not blocking anything but the sky out to the northeast. Not bad.

Are we seriously talking about this???? Have you seen the back side of the spires of galaxy’s edge????? Talk about cheap!
Sooo…. Who cares what Gardians of the Galaxy looks like I am just happy it will be opening soon!

Hi. As a long-time fan of Epcot, I am unhappy with the way Disney is changing Epcot from a unique informational park to just another theme park. A part of this includes:
    1. Frozen in Norway
    2. Sing a long in France
    3. Ratatouille ride in France
    4. Replacing Illuminations (eventually) with the iron monstrosity
    5. Guardians building/ride
Epcot was great because of its informational theme, uniqueness and beauty. Now the lake view is ruined by a new “fireworks show” that is no where as good as Illuminations.
Instead of spending a lot on the new rides, I’d have added to the existing country pavilions (ex: Rhine river ride for Germany, Movies of the countries in those that had no movie or ride).
I’d also change the America pavilion to “Soaring over US”, showing the natural beauty of our country.
WDW has lost its way, very sad.
And, WOKEness is partly to blame.

  15. Matthew Brewster

The very last element of any WDI project to be added is landscaping. I am confident that a giant berm will eventually surround the show building, with tall trees planted along the top, which will pretty much hide it from view.
