Chapek is trying to figure out how much to charge us to ride the trams at WDW and Disneyland. I have no doubt. After having to make the long walk, especially from Mickey & Friends in Anaheim to DL and DCA, I’m sure many would pay to ride it. This could be part of the strategy to again monetize something else that used to be included with price of parking, admission. So far none of us Disney fans are voting with our wallets, instead we’re handing them over. Some big YouTube influencers are backing off though. There’s hope for the Resistance. 🙂

    1. I’m not paying for genie+. I’m standing up against it.

If Bob Paycheck charges people to ride the trams, I think a massive uproar will ensue. Watch him raise the parking price again- “It’s to offset the costs of running the trams.” 🙄 Disney please fire him and find someone better to lead the company!

My family was there a few weeks ago. It was very sad that their was no regards to elderly, handicap, and disabled people. Making it tough for them to get to their cars. But yet they can supply wheelchairs in the park, bit can’t provide Tram service for the people who really could use it. I think we paid enough to get into park and tram should have been included. I was exhausted till I got to my car with my bad knee.

Everyone is complaining that they have to walk to and from the park. You LITERALLY just walked around a park all day, and I’m sure you didn’t complain once. If you’re complaining as you’re walking to your car, then you stayed too long. It’s not Disney’s fault you have a bad knee. As for the elderly and handicapped, there’s a couple of options. 1.) you can drop them off near the entrance and then you can park the car. 2.) if you’re handicapped and have the appropriate placard, they have handicap parking!
Also, I think people are making this a bigger deal than it needs to be, and just feel like complaining, instead of being grateful that they can go to Disney, the happiest place on earth.

For the first two years not running the trams is a bonus cost savings to Disney. After two years, the savings have already been built into the balance sheets — and so running them becomes a new expense.

Paycheck will either charge you to ride them, or build it in by raising the parking to $30-$35 to cover it. The latter will bring in more money, since EVERYBODY pays, whether they ride the trams or not.

    3. Yeah – you clearly missed the entire point. These lovely people that you’re insulting are simply giving fine examples of the insane and costly notion that the Disney tram – free in every single park Ive ever been to – will require payment! If you’re complaining at the end of the day, that means you spent too much time at the park? Seriously? And of course you can drop your loved one at the front gate and go find a parking spot. I don’t think you should then have to pay an additional fee to jump on a tram car to get back to them! Disney will only remain the happiest place on earth as long as it remains affordable for people to actually experience it and come back so they can say that it was the happiest place on earth. I will be in WDW in 2 weeks. Genie+ and Lightning Lane are, conceptually, fine but, in practice, ridiculous. We used to go every single year for at least a week. We no longer can afford that luxury. We now go every third year for about 4 days. What we are experiencing is the sad result of capitalism at its finest – much to the chagrin of tens of thousands who will never be able to say they’ve ever been able to SEE, let alone GO TO, the proverbial happiest place on earth.

You can’t drop them off at the door. This isn’t Kroger’s.

I’m not a fan of the BC at all. I would like to add, why are all the other Board members going along with what he’s doing. Their silence is just as telling of how greedy they are as well. As they say it’s all about “the Benjamins”
