Expect all prices to increase shortly, they always do when this happens.

Really Look two questions do you work there? Do you know what goes on

Its called wage price spiral. The wage increase effectively increases general business expenses that are passed on to the consumer in the form of higher prices. Economics 101

Don’t use logic when emotions drive the argument.

These folks clearly don’t comprehend economics.

It is rich when people post like they have a greater understanding of business than they really do to make themselves feel better. Every time the minimum wage is forced to go up every few decades instead of tying to the cost of living this battle of idiocy ensues. Please do form a cohesive argument before you bring out the usual argument about cost being passed to consumer and the loss of jobs. This has only been regurgitated especially in the South who glorified slavery as the model for an agrarian society as opposed to the rights stomping North who was the industrial power.

    2. I think all the executives should make $15 an hour….. Big deal….. Living in Florida is not cheap…… The workers deserve more especially putting up with some idiot visitors….

      1. I’ve done it and you are right. I absolutely agree with you 👍

The word choice and phrasing in your sentences is a little rough. A bit more editing and perhaps even reading it out loud would be very beneficial.

Unfortunately this sounds like good news, but was preceded by taking away all Cast Member merchandise discounts (20% regularly and – one of the very best perks of being a CM!!!

  4. Bob

Honestly Disney promised 18 and 20 an hour . I say 20 they deserve it

  5. Tom

Not every cast member will get to enjoy $15 per hour. College Program cast make less than the stcu minimum.

In a couple more years Disney by Florida law will have to pay $15.00 an hour to all employees regardless since the State has a graduated mandatory minimum wage set. Disney as they do so well will just keep passing this onto people coming into the parks. Soon, if your not making $100,000 a year you can forget about ever going to Disney.

Going for 2 weeks in December and already counting on the money I’ll save in tips ! NOT tipping waitstaff who are making that kind of money to ask if I want the mac & cheese & disappearing till they bring the check ( runners do most of the work they used to do including side work & deliveryof food )while the dishwashers have to work their ass off for that amount w/o tips. And before you all start I have been in the business in all positions including ownership for over 40 years. Former heavy tipper! Have a magical day !

tell me you’re a chud without telling me you’re a chud

Tips are meant to be an incentive to excel ! Now it’s treated as if is owed or due to someone. Don’t worry the future socialist state will take care of your lazy selves ! Again, have a magical day !

@Mike maybe because you never left Ameriku but tips in this country actually make up the lip share of your paycheck. Restaurant owners are allowed to pay 40% of minimum wage which comes out to a whopping four dollars in Floriduh. So before you go running your mouth look at the reality. Try paying rent, food, utilities, and other needs on that. Europe on the other hand charges you a service charge so you pay so you do not have to tip and the owner pays the employee a salary with benefits. Could you imagine if they took away the low salary payout here from restaurant owners. They would cry bloody murder because they do not want to run a business with true costs imposed. Labor is a cost which needs to be factored in and we pay most it as consumers.

Worked as chef 3 years in Germany ,Denmark, & Amsterdam! So now you were saying ? Also Martha’s Vineyard, The Bahamas, Bermuda, AND FLORIDA !!! So take whatever propaganda you READ somewhere & kiss my wrinkly old butt !

It will only accelerate the increasing prices at Disney. And it will demoralize the poor soul who started at $10/hr and finally worked their way up to make $15/hr, and now they are making no more than the new hires.

  9. LynnCarolFeinn

There are some businesses here in Nevada, that offer $15/hr. It’s a good start! And complies with the National minimum wage increase.

  10. Manny

@LynnCarolFeinn you are so right. Look at the establishments that raised salaries before the pandemic. The data shows they retained people and actually did better. Now
The slave masters are scrambling to get people to work for them. I hope the Great Resignation continues and people realize they have a right to say, “No More.”
