Credit: MarvelMarvel costume designer Mayes C. Rubeo shared in a recent interview the upcoming costume changes and upgrades to Thor’s suit in the upcoming film Thor: Love and Thunder.
According to Heroic Hollywood, Thor’s reinvention was able to catapult the Marvel legend to household notoriety due to his acclaimed “new” image that has been popularized by the Marvel franchise. Noticeably, Thor’s costume has become more minimalistic and sleek, optimizing him for battle.
In a recent interview with the Designing Hollywood Podcast, Rubeo spoke about the costume changes and how they will be reflected throughout the film. Even though he couldn’t release specific details about the costume, he stated that the upgrades and changes will allow Thor to battle effortlessly while maintaining his new image.
“We were able to bring [Thor: Ragnarok’s color palette and costume lessons to Thor: Love and Thunder’s costuming]… I think there are always opportunities to do things differently. And obviously, we are dictated by the script and the situations of the script, and if there are different worlds or different countries, and stuff like that. It all comes with every single part of the script.”

The film is going to be directed by Taika Waititi and Chris Hemsworth will be returning as Thor.
