I can’t speak about the lightning lane, because we were there last week of Sept before Genie plus debuted. But it broke down on the part at the end, when you land on the cliff. So like five seconds before it ended. But because it broke down, they immediately put us back on a different section. So we essentially got to ride it two times in a row lol!

Granted I paid the most expensive admission with a one day, non-Resort, adult ticket plus parking but I would not have spent an additional amount for the lightning lane. I think Walt would be dismayed to know how many young middle-class families are unable to afford a day at Disney, Let alone a week. I understand LL is for the privileged, but that’s not what Walt was about either

Oh please, stop with trying to impose your guesses about what Walt would have thought. The absolute fact was that Walt was the ultimate capitalist and profiteer. He built a for profit empire, he wasn’t, nor did he claim to be Ghandi or Mother Theresa.
I was there a couple of days ago and there were nothing but young families (don’t know of their class status because I didn’t ask for a W-2) as far as the eye could see. The Lightning lanes were in use, nobody had a problem justifying their dollar outlay.
Lightening Lanes isn’t only for the privileged, it’s for anyone who can afford an extra $15 or less. If you don’t like what’s going on at the parks don’t go, it’ll be less stressful for everyone.

Would never pay the extra for LL. And for people that do, I really don’t feel bad for them. The quote, “life is like a box a chocolate” comes to mind…. You can afford it… well then you can afford to lose it.

The purchase of the LL option(s) isn’t a loss, it’s an extra service which is offered and for which you decide to pay extra. it’s similar to the options available at the other major theme parks in FL.
That’s how the world works, you want something extra, you should be willing to pay for it.

NO! I would not pay for any ride that last a few minutes. It’s a ridiculous amount you are forced to pay for admission tickets, Now disney wants you to pay more to ride??!! In the past, the free fast passes worked very well! The lines for both standby & free fast passes were feathered in, so no line got too terribly long. It was a system that worked. The only reason Disney charges now is greed. Its been very frustrating with this new “system” & feels designed to force a person to spend extra $$$ when it shouldn’t be happening. Who thought of this expensive pay system?? The new ceo?? Good grief Disney, you can certainly do better. Large families cannot enjoy the parks with this unfair genie+, lightening system! It’s nothing but wait, wait, wait.. punishing those who do not want to spend the extra $$$.

Totally agree! Cheepek and Genie should go!

I can hardly believe people are paying for this. It costs plenty just to get into the parks and then they expect you to pay more to ‘hopefully’ get on the rides a little faster? I don’t think so!
