We have some more great news for fans of Disney Cruise Line! Disney has revealed today that the Disney Wonder will resume sailings on February 2, 2022, from New Orleans, LA.
We’ve seen a lot of disruption with the Disney Cruise Line during the COVID-19 pandemic. From March 2020, all sailings ended up being canceled throughout the end of the year. The Disney Wonder set sail for Europe back in October 2020 for maintenance and resumed its adventures from San Diego on October 1, 2021.
Recently it was announced that starting in November 2021, the ship will return to the sea from Galveston, Texas, and now, New Orleans is back starting in 2022!

The cruises from New Orleans will offer an array of Western Caribbean cruises, including 4, 5 and 6-night itineraries:
Cruises from New Orleans aboard the Disney Wonder
- 4-Night Western Caribbean Cruise from New Orleans to Cozumel, Mexico
- Departures from February 14 through February 28, 2022, and February 23 through March 23, 2023
- 5-Night Western Caribbean Cruise from New Orleans to Cozumel and Progreso, Mexico
- March 27 – April 1, 2023
- 6-Night Western Caribbean Cruise from New Orleans to Cozumel, Mexico and Georgetown, Grand Cayman
- Departures from February 2 through February 8, 2022, and March 9 through March 17, 2023

One specific departure, however, will offer a modified itinerary. The 6-night Disney Wonder sailing leaving on February 18, 2022 will now visit Cozumel and Costa Maya, Mexico instead of Key West and Castaway Cay.
As a thank you for sailing with Disney Cruise Line on this altered itinerary, Disney is giving each stateroom a $400 credit that can be used toward onboard purchases. Guests on this Disney Wonder may also choose to modify or cancel their sailing without any Disney cancellation fees by October 27, 2021. In this case, they forfeit the $400 onboard credit.

Communication will also be sent to all Guests sailing on the Disney Wonder New Orleans cruises departing February 2, 8, 14, 24 and 28 2022. These messages will remind Guests of COVID-19 vaccine and testing requirements, along with helpful information to make arrival at the port more efficient. If you have any questions, we recommend reaching out to Disney directly or your Authorized Disney Vacation Planner, AKA your Disney travel agent.
As a reminder about vaccination requirements:
In order to sail, Guests 12 years of age and older must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, as defined by the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Due to recently updated technical guidance from the CDC, Guests 11 years of age and younger are not required to be vaccinated, but must provide proof of a negative COVID-19 test result (paid for by the Guest) taken between 3 days and 24 hours prior to the date you set sail. The test should be a rapid PCR test or lab-based PCR test. Rapid antigen tests are not accepted. Additionally, beginning September 13, 2021, all Guests, regardless of age and vaccination status, are also required to take a COVID-19 test administered by Inspire Diagnostics at the terminal before boarding.
