This was definitely NOT the case today. Hollywood studios was packed!!!

I was in Hollywood Studios last Tuesday. I wouldn’t call it packed, but I agree it wasn’t deserted. I was able to walk onto Star Tours and TofT. I rode Smugglers Run 3 times. 15 minutes tops for everything else, though I did ride M&M R R later in the day, the line was longer earlier. And I was able to ride Rise of The Resistance too.

No one can afford to go anymore!

Probably waiting for the 50th events to start. There was still a lot of things not open there a month ago and it was disappointing. Maybe people are tired of the cuts? I don’t care for the new boss at all.

Did it ever occur to you that people CANNOT afford the outrageous cost of a trip to ” The happiest place on earth” ? A 1 day ticket for Disneyland age 10+ ranges from $104 to $154. Let’s say you have 3 kids @ 10+ years of age. That’s close to $500. Add in 2 adult admissions at $209 each for a total of $880 just to walk through the gate. There are constant expenses inside the park, food for 5, souvenirs for the kids. You’re looking at a whopping $1500 day trip. Not worth the price even if people could afford it.

    Don’t complain.
    Enjoy…

We just got back from Disney World. We were there 8/30 to 9/4. We go at least once or twice a year. This year was crazy with the low wait time. The longest we waited was 10mins and that was at the seven dwarfs mine ride. It was pretty nice.

    1. Ahuehuete

10 mins for 7 Dawrfs? That’s pretty good. I had to wait 25 minutes on 9/1. Big Thunder, Splash, Jungle Cruise, Pirates, Buzz and Haunted were almost walk ons. And Peter Pan was 20+ min, of course.

It’s probably due to the fact that Disney reinstated the mask mandate back in July.

      😂😂😂 Nope

So many people complaining that “the magic is gone” 😂😂😂 Disney World vacations are what you make of them. If it sucked for you, it’s probably your own fault. You’re probably the same people I see berating cast members at every turn because you think you’re the only person/family in the parks.
Raising the prices means a better experience for all who can afford to go.

I wonder if this is a combined reaction to Disney cancelling FastPass + Florida’s uncontrolled Covid state. Florida’s hospitals are heartbreakingly full.

Plus, the new “Buy a fastpass” system is such an ice bath. We’re DVC, and the news of it made even me abandon my hopeful post-Covid Disney plans.

Why spend all the money to go to Disney if you know you can’t afford to pay extra to be in any line that isn’t an hour long?

This is going to shut out a lot of middle class families. And it’s a huge turn off to lots of loyal Disney families.

I didn’t miss Fast Pass last week. The standby lines were not long and they moved FAST. I would prefer that there be no FastPass, free or for a fee. If they sell them, that will be a big turn off for many.

I was also at Animal Kingdom on Thursday, September 2 and I totally enjoyed it. We got onto Flight of Passage so fast it almost felt too easy. The wait times during our last visit in 2019 were 2+ hours. We rode twice this time with next to no wait time at all. Also rode Expedition Everest twice in very short order. We had planned to spend the entire day at the park (with dinner reservations there for 5 PM) but we got through all of the rides and attractions so quickly that we left around 2 PM and cancelled our dinner reservations.

I’m an annual pass holder, and yes, the value is not what is used to be. But if i can get into a park, ride what I want with minimal waits, and get out of the park in record time… I’ll take it.

I was also at AK on Sept 2. Arrived just after 8 AM and was done around 1 PM. Of the 4 parks, I would say AK was the lightest attended last week,

    Slow news day?

the lack of people are probably the fact that Disney is not affordable anymore. I can’t believe how much it costs to get in and the fact that if you have a annual pass there are so many days you can’t go because of the blackout dates. I think Disney will see even less people with their new prices and rules on use for annual passes.

  13. Claudette Grenier

i agree with you, all is way too expensive. We always LOVED going to Disney, but can no longer afford it. Thank god we went when our kids were young, at least they got to enjoy the Disney magic quite a bit when young, we wouldn’t be able to afford it now.

The extra costs are pissing people off. $15-$25 a day to park at a resort Food prices going up substantially. Add $15 a day per person for Genie+. 10 day trip for family of 4 just add an additional $750 for basically nothing and then the higher cost of food. Oh any you have to spend every waking moment with your nose buried in your phone trying to buy food or scheduling a ride. Where the f did the magic go

Covid+Genie++Rising Prices+Staffing Issues+Corporate Greed = Poorer Experience and Customer Resentment, and a rapidly failing company. We visited 2/3 times per year from the UK. No more I’m afraid. Good Luck All.
PS – Red Tide on the coast also is a factor changing where our £ goes.

I was at WDW last week. The crowds were light and lines were very short. That said, I think your photos were cherry picked, because I remember more people than that. Sure, there were moments when you would see scenes as sparse as in those pictures, but I would say that those aren’t truly representative of what it was actually like, especially in the afternoons. Not saying it was crowded, because it certainly was not, but it wasn’t that deserted everywhere, all the time.

now maybe the board will take notice of greedy man chapek and his efforts to ruin an ICON in Walt Disney. To expensive, no perks for staying on property. Only most expensive property has after hours options. Nickel, dime, nickel, dime. Enough. Disney has to be loosing money with low crowds. Way to go greedy man.

I won’t go over the mask policy. It is so hot and humid, I’m not opposed to masks, but I am in regards to what that must be like in those weather conditions and they are requiring masks regardless of vax status. It is uncomfortable in that weather without something also covering your face. That, for me, is a non-starter…

It is too much work, planning a vacation to Walt Disney World now. Now I have to book air fare, hotel ressies, dining ressies, buy park hoppers, reserve a park???!, months before I even go. The part about reserving the park you want to go to for each day of your trip was the camel that broke the proverbial camel’s back. Not to mention, reduced hours and services. It is sad but “goodbye Disney”!
