Interesting article but what is not mentioned is that her father, John Mills was the lead in Swiss Family Robinson and an acclaimed actor himself. (As was her mother and sister Juliet Mills.)
But overall her time with Disney is what brought her into stardom and made her a household name. She and her family made the right decisions at the time, but I certainly understand her desire to breakout into more grownup roles.
