If you have frequented the Disney Parks, then you are familiar with the name tags worn by Disney Cast Members (AKA Disney employees). For the 50th anniversary of Walt Disney World, Cast Members are receiving special name tags with an EARidescent and gold look.
Walt Disney World Resort has shared a special look at how Disney Cast Members have begun commemorating the 50th anniversary this week. The first Disney Cast Members to start wearing their new name tags put them on in the middle of the night, signaling that the 50th anniversary has almost officially started!

As we prepare for The World’s Most Magical Celebration to begin in just a few days, Cast Members are putting on one of the finishing touches: 50th-themed EARidescent and gold nametags! As the clock struck midnight this morning, our third-shift Cast Members became the first today to put on these iconic accessories. As the post notes, in just a few days, Disney will kick off The World’s Most Magical Celebration. This week, Disney fans from all over are flocking to The Most Magical Place on Earth in Florida so they can experience this amazing time in Disney history. So, it’s fitting for Disney Cast Members to begin wearing their special 50th anniversary name tags on Monday, the start of the week and just a few days before the celebration officially begins.
Walt Disney World Resort President Jeff Vahle also shared a post to social media all about the new name tags:
Thousands of Walt Disney World Cast Members put on their new EARidescent nametags for the first time today. Whether working in person or virtually, there were a lot of smiles all around when people made the switch. Just 3 more days until our 50th anniversary!

Today’s a very big day — it’s finally time for all of us Cast Members here @WaltDisneyWorld to begin wearing our 50th nametags, together! We’re so happy for the thousands of Disney Cast Members who get to be a part of the 50th anniversary and make magic all of the Guests who come to visit. The 50th anniversary celebrations will last a full 18 months, so whether you visit in October 2021, early 2023, or sometime in between, you will get to experience all of the magic that the Florida Disney Parks have in store during this special time.
