Hope For Trams Returning: Disney Is Hiring!

Disney World transportation both inside and outside the theme parks has become a favorite of Disney fans everywhere. Monorails, ferries, jetties, railroads, and parking lot trams are so beloved that Disney has created toys, collectibles, and wearable merchandise dedicated to these moving attractions.

If you are one of those that has been missing the trams and wondering when they might return, the answer is closer than ever! Posted on the Walt Disney World jobs site, Parking Operations Cast Member applications are now open.

Specifically mentioning tram operation, these Cast Members will be responsible for “ensuring the highest standards of safety while greeting, loading/unloading, driving, spieling and directing Guests in the parking lots. Parking Operations Cast Members will safely operate multi-car passenger trams throughout parking lots.”

Responsibilities of the Parking Operations Cast Members include operating those beloved trams and detailing the memorized script to them in a loud, clear voice. Directing Guests is of utmost importance, and when not operating the trams, Disney expects these CMs to lay and remove cones, utilize safety equipment, and work in various outdoor conditions.

Especially treasured in the hot EPCOT parking lots, Walt Disney World Trams have been missed since the Florida park opening in the summer of 2020. Guests have been trekking the pathways from their cars to the touchpoint gates, missing the trams very much!

Recently, we saw Cast Members pulling around the EPCOT parking lot on six-passenger golf carts, giving rides to the entrance of the Park to those that needed them. It made us wonder why the trams were not yet running if Disney indeed saw a need for these short rides. It’s refreshing, to say the least, to see these part-time/shift job applications. After Disney reviews applicants and sends them through Traditions, we’re excited to greet these Cast Members aboard the parking lot trams!
