One of the biggest losses that Disney World Guests will experience in 2022 is Disney’s Magical Express.

Disney’s Magical Express is the mode of transportation in which Disney Resort Guests can transport from Orlando International Airport to their Disney Resort. The service is completely complimentary and gives Guests an added bit of magic with Disney trivia, Disney World Park videos, and Mickey Mouse cartoons playing as you drive.

Having the Magical Express alleviated Disney Guests’ stress, as they did not have to ever worry about transportation while staying on property. As we mentioned, this service will be coming to an end next year; however, its operator, Mears, will be carrying out a similar service option for Guests!

Mears — the third-party company that operates Magical Express — announced “Mears Connect,” a new shuttle service that will begin as soon as Magical Express ends in January 2022. And now, Guests can begin making reservations for the service!

It seems that when logging on to the site, Guests can either pick between standard or direct travel. Disney’s Magical Express often dropped at multiple hotels, so for a similar experience, we will go with the standard.

You then need to input where you are going, your flight information, and details about your party size.

Round trips will cost adults $32.00 each and children $27.00. One way travel will cost adults $16.00 and kids $13.50. If you want premium direct service, you will have to pay $200.00 for four Guests and an additional $55.00 per extra Guest.

After looking at these costs, it seems that Uber may still be the cheapest option, depending on your party size. An Uber from the airport to Disney World (not during a busy time of the day) typically costs around $30.00, which would mean around $60.00 for a round trip. If you are a family of four (two adults, two kids), that total cost for a standard round trip is $118.00 on Mears Connect, and you still may be making multiple stops, unlike an Uber.

That being said, for those looking for a pre-set shuttle service that they do not have to stress over once in Orlando, Mears Connect will be perfect. At the moment, we do not know where the shuttle service will be located. However, since Mears runs Disney’s Magical Express, if the shuttle service is just as popular, perhaps it will keep the same location.
