If you are a fan of the Haunted Mansion attraction at Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom, you definitely enjoy the pre-show.
From the eerie Cast Members asking Guest to move towards the “dead center” of the room to the Ghost Host welcoming you in and setting the stage for the attraction that will appear in the next room, the stretching room is a key element for the attraction’s storyline and immersion.
Yesterday, it seems that Guests had a very different and deadly silent experience while riding the attraction. When entering the stretching room, there was no sound to be heard from the classic Ghost Host; however, the room itself operated as usual, with the hanging body still appearing at the end. Without the audio, Guests who were not used to the attraction may not have understood why the hanging body appeared out of nowhere.
YouTubers One Little Spark JL (@onelittlesparkjl) were visiting the attraction when they noticed that the audio was completely gone during the attraction’s preshow. The two were live streaming the incident, and it seems that although there was no spooky voice, the ending still had Guests shaking in their boots!
Take a look at what happened in the video below! If you want to jump to the Haunted Mansion attraction, One Little Spark encounters the silence at 1:31:28.
We have seen audio cut out from attractions in the past, such as on the Tower of Terror. When this occurs, Disney is typically able to correct to issue quickly, and Guests who experienced it will have that unique memory to take home with them!
A Spirited Tour
The disembodied voice of the Ghost Host is your private guide through the cadaverous realm of an eerie haunted estate, home to ghosts, ghouls and supernatural surprises.
Glide past a casket-filled conservatory, Madame Leota’s chilling séance room and a ghostly graveyard of singing specters as you attempt to find your way out. Beware of hitchhikers—these phantom pranksters may follow you home.
Before Entering the Mansion
A musical crypt, a leaky tomb and a ghostly writer are among the creepy haunts you’ll find outside the main entrance. Explore supernatural hands-on experiences—only at Walt Disney World Resort—while you await your fate inside.
The Haunted Mansion is dark and contains some mildly frightening scenes, but there is no gore, the ghostly residents are friendly and the ride is slow-moving.
