We already knew that the story will take place after the final kiss as Naveen and Louis join Tiana on her latest adventure, hosting a one-of-a-kind Mardi Gras celebration where everyone is welcome. Now, we are learning a bit more about what Guests can expect during the upcoming retheme of Splash Mountain.

During the roundtable with Kenneth Moton, National Correspondent for ABC News; Stella Chase Reese, Owner of Dooky Chase’s Restaurant and daughter of Leah Chase; Carmen Smith, Creative Executive, Vice President, Inclusive Strategies for Walt Disney Imagineering; Charita Carter, Senior Producer for Walt Disney Imagineering; and Marlon West, VFX Supervisor for Walt Disney Animation Studios, more details were revealed for the upcoming “Tiana project”, including exactly what Guests can experience on the ride.

Charita Carter, Senior Producer for Walt Disney Imagineering, explained:

“I am so happy to say that we are taking the beautiful, wonderful character of Tiana and we’re bringing her to an immersive space so that our Guests can have an experience and an adventure with her — both at Magic Kingdom and at Disneyland.”

Carter continued to go into details, explaining how Tiana actually invites Guests to go on the adventure in the bayou and how Guests will be “active participants”:

“So Tiana actually invites us as the Guest to go on an adventure with her in the bayou and the fun thing about it is that we, as the Guest, we are active participants in this adventure. So she acknowledges us and just being the witty person that she is, she takes us through this amazing journey where we get to discover not only characters that we know and love from the film, but this is an opportunity to be introduced to some new characters. And I know that our Guests are going to really embrace them.

And then of course the adventure ends with the ultimate Mardi Gras party because if Tiana is throwing a party, it is the ultimate Mardi Gras party. “

We cannot wait to see what Imagineers come up with for the “Tiana project” and will continue to update you as we get information regarding the retheme.
